Well guys looks like I'll be joining the club. My bass will be delivered Monday. I'm pumped. I'll have to post a review when I get it.
I'm on youtube...the singer recorded our NYE gig, so here's a coupla' clips of the new UV70.
All the Fenders I've typically played in the recent past were the USA Deluxe models, and those also have slightly undersized bodies, so it was a natural transition for me, but yeah, I really like the bodies on these a lot!

Not the best audio, but the bass was definitely a hit with the band.
As has been said SOOO many times here, the magic is in the mix. I was pretty luke warm on Sadowsky basses until I gigged one. Then... well... let's just say at this point I'll never be without one in my stable.
It is kind of like how I can't understand why cover band players hate original band players.

It is a very generalized statement I know, but I have seen some very hawkish cover band players.What the....
Dude... I play in a cover band (and have been doing that for years as well as other kinds of bands) and I LOVE to go out and see original bands!!! There's a place here in town called "wake the dead". Yeah, it's kind of a goth theme'd place, and open kinda' sporadically, but they only do originals bands from all over the area and I always have a great time there.
IMHO, that's their problem. Thing is I think I know what you're talking about... some folks misread originals bands as being pretentious, but I think that's only if they're playing in a venue where folks come specifically to listen to cover bands play familiar music, and if that's the case, it's everybody there... not just the musicians. However, if the venue is known for supporting original music, all is (very) good.
).I have a good friend who is an exceptional player and one of the funkiest players I know just took the Sadowsky plunge last week. He is a local player named Will Pope, anyway I've been trying to talk him into one for years. He's been jonseing for one a bit since he played KJungs Orange beauty at a hang in the D. I've played gigs along side him since the late 70's. He was hanging with Jimmy Ali and Ali let him try a P/J metro fiver. Anyway a friend of Jimmy's was there and traded him his metro sunburst P/J five for a 74 P. Will is now raving about it, although he'll probably refinnish it in Orange. Will plays all over the world with a few different acts, in fact one of his bands opened for Tal Walkenfield at the Montreux Jazz festival, and I've heard rumors his name will be showing up on the endorsers page soon. My first Sadowsky conversion!
