I've been told that a P-neck (1-3/4")with more mass is better for the 'real' P-bass tone than a Jazz neck (1-1/2")... ? Not sure about that being so other than what is just personally comfy.
So what do Guyz at thee Shop say? Roger... Rob
I'm gonna buy something soon ...![]()

Man, that is beautiful.
Please excuse my Sadowsky ignorance, but is that a Metro or NYC?

Yeah yeah, I know, what I play isn't "truly" a P or a J. It's some modern twisted bastardization of the real thing.Ya, but you play those basses with the 'extra' string on them...![]()

For those who missed it it's a Metro UV70 I just picked up yesterday, seems to be a real gem.....
P.S. I did walk out of the shop with a new porta gig bag and a neo strap.

:I experience this before. I'm a 4 string J bass kind a guy and wanted a P bass to get the sound. I also heard that the fat neck of the P is helping making the sound.
So I bought a P bass with the fat neck and I never liked it. It ended up never being played. It was too foreign to my hands.
Now if you are a five strings guy then it does not matter anymore because you have the meat anyway.
Go with the J neck. Sound wise, you'll never hear the difference.
