Club Sadowsky!!!

Oh yes, delivered today:

Unfortunately, I don't have a chance to plug it in until tomorrow. Acoustically it seems very nice though. :)
The neck is a bit fatter than I am used to, but still feels
very good.

Count me in. :)
NICE!

Man, after seeing some of these black basses with the black pearl guards, I'm really diggin' that look. Otherwise, I'm not really much of a black bass guy.

I was actually meant to get a transparent white one, but wasn't willing to wait. The transparent black is actually even prettier in person, and I agree the black and black pearl guard, and maple neck, is very cool. :)

I will get a white one eventually, has to be a Will Lee I think. :)

I'd love to see a close up of that beauty (w/o flash if you can swing it). NOLA just got one also that is a lollypop!

Here's a link to the big picture on the Sadowsky site, and while it wasn't done with flash, it probably needs a gamma tweak to see if the trans can be shown... pretty much just looks black in the picture.

And the full info page... had to hit this just to make sure it was listed as trans black...

Nah, not really. There'll still be PLENTY of that amazing quilt visible, and at least IMHO, the pickguard completes the vintage J theme, which is at least important to me, and in fact (again IMHO) compliments the quilt as well.

Here's mine as an example. The quilt is really quite nice, and I don't mind that guard on there at all.

5249 is the most beautiful Bass I have ever had in my hands. I actually had $3800.00 in my pocket and wanted to buy it from Vic @ the St. Louis GTG on March 20th of this year. I decided I had to have one just like it and Placed my order on March 22nd. The very next Monday. I then decided to add Vintage tint and BE Maple and thought I was done until a couple of months later I was talking with Kevin and he mentioned Blocks. So I went for the Ebony Blocks. If you guys think 5249 is awesome you should see it in person. There is plenty of the Beautiful quilt to look @ on that Bass. But Vic's Natural finished solid body Vintage JJ5 is the Bass that made me order SC PUPS. Both are amazing instruments.

Mike,

Just joshing ya a little ...That bass is beautiful, no doubts there. I think its fair to say that you're right, there's plenty of quilt on that baby!:D

Can't wait to see the finished one with the blocks! Good call on that...hope the wait time is not too long.

What a bummer!!

I was so pumped to have finally got a Sadowsky. I posted last week when I got my MV5... Well today it got stolen!! :S I`m so %@&$ pissed off! It would have been the first time I try it with my band. We have an office band and when I get to work at 9am I put my bass with all the other music gear. After 5pm we all get together and jam all night....but not tonight...my bass was gone! Somebody had a lot of balls to come in our office which is all open concept and leave with my bass while there is people all around... I can't believe he got away with it without ever being seen from on of our staff...(like 10 guys working on computers right there!)

Hopefully the guy is stupid and brings it to a pawn shop. Not many Sadowskys here in Ottawa so it should be pretty easy to spot...but I may never see it again... :S

Lupien, Sorry about your misfortune, that kind'a crap REALLY frosts my **tz. BUT this circumstance CAN have a good ending. One of my Sadowsky's was lifted during a loadout a couple of years ago. I sent emails w/pic's to every local (Seattle/Tacoma) instrument dealer and pawn shop that had an email address, local venues that had live music, some out of area dealers (Vancouver, Portland, Spokane, SanFrancisco) & local radio stations. I did not however post an ad or pics on Craigslist as I did not want to alert someone who might list it there. (In your Google Search box type Craigslist: Sadowsky and it will search all of Craigslist for you.) 5 weeks...nothing...then one morning my wife talked me into posting pics on local Craigslist. Three hours after I posted the pics the guy takes it to a pawn shop. The shop owner doesn't know Sadowsky, looks on CL to try and establish a value and BINGO, calls the cops, keeps him busy for 5 minutes and the bass was returned to me later that day. Keep the faith and stay diligent sending good thoughts your way.

Thanks Vic,
I have a feeling the colouring of this baby looks better in person. I suspect the pattern on the pg jumps off the plastic.(probably has "life" to it - if that translates) The bottom pic is probably how the trans black looks under stage lights - more or less, with the pg staying darker.

Looking through these last couple of pages of exotic topped beauties with gaurds etc it's easy to see why people like them so much. I took a while to decide on mine and, in the end, it came down to this... because Sadowsky have access to such beautiful woods I wanted "none covered" exotica ;) I have gaurds and plates on my old Fender J and P, SR5 etc so for me it was nekkid all the way

LOL!!!!!!!

Me and Joel, yeah, we just powned you man, and when Mike (Hounddog) gets his, you just better pray, cause it's gonna be breathtaking.

:)

Vic I'm thinking about another 59 burst NYC also. I can't get enough of that look on Roger's basses!

Although to be fair I love all of his stuff. I'm a sucker for the 59 bursts, the cherry bursts, the natural quilts, etc, etc. :hiding:
