LOL. I wish! Fact is - I only saw him using it in an introduction. The Guest Artist had her own group this time. Ricky & the band sometimes get a whole song (for us to watch) when the guest artist needs accompaniment.
Maybe another time Fran. I still can't get over the dude playing a P-Bass. LOL.

I made reference to a builder (a few posts back) who has a few whiskers - figuratively speaking - and I would like take this neat little opportunity to pay tribute to the guy. Quite a number of years ago this beauty caught my eye. I believe it was possibly the 1st of the kind.
This is Rob Radack's design & craftsmanship. I know this because I remember phoning to inquire.
It is a novel tribute to the 50's P.

Last time I saw Buddy Guy his bass player was using a LPB ash/maple 24-5. It sounded great.

I found Orlando's information, and I don't think it was him for that show. Now I'm more curious than ever, but I did a bunch of searching last night and came up empty handed. *argh* I remember him well because he kinda' "prowled" around the stage the way he moved, and Buddy made the mention of bringing sex back to the bass or something like that.

I am torn between these for the future reverse PJ 5er:
Quilt Maple on Ash/Braz neck,
Quilt Maple on Alder/Braz neck
Alder/Braz neck

Steer me in the right direction guys and gals....

Not even a contest in my mind. The PJ5 is all about the Alder/Brazilian combo. That wood combo and the PJ5 voicing just works so well. It sits perfectly in the mix and has a big, supportive tone that is incredibly flexible.

I can literally get away using my Braz/Alder PJ5 in any musical setting with nothing more than a tweak of the blend knob.

I ordered it last Wednesday, and have been eagerly awaiting it's arrival. I start rehearsals for my next theatre gig this Sunday, and wanted to use it for the production. If I can get it worked out with my day job, I'll be using the bass for a pop gig on Saturday.

I agree. I was leaning towards Dark Cherry Burst, but the wait time wasn't worth it to me, so Vintage Tint was my second choice.

I was hoping that I'd sleep till noon today so that I wouldn't be compulsively checking the UPS website (it's being delivered to my job...and today is my day off).

Neck edge LED's

NICE! I really wish I had those on mine, but they would've put me over budget.

As it is, I'm happy that the non-LED side dots are now larger than they were in 2005 or whenever. Not the same as having LED's of course, but the larger ones make life a little easier on dark stages.
