I received a mail from Drexler and the upcharges for the custom neck pickup placement and custom pickguard is well within budget. Seriously considering pulling the trigger... and the (hopefully) 8 months build time would suit me perfectly since I plan on recording in summer 2011. I'll probably order the Sadowsky now, and save up some money for a ridiculously spec'd JD in the future.

I also found out that there's a guitar repair shop 10 metres from where I live. The input jack on my Warwick needed some work requiring welding. Could've done it myself, but I don't have a soldering iron at home.

Anywho... One of the reasons I wanted stainless steel frets was for their durability. I didn't know of any luthier/repair shop here until now. So that's not a problem anymore, and the shop's price for that kind of work isn't ridiculously high either.

Oh yeah...

Yeah, I played both my Metro PJ5 and the Metro 24 fret above. I didn't notice anything, and I wasn't using a sticky suede strap, either. I think these basically are identical to the Modern/24-Fret 5's, and I don't recall any neck dive on those, nor anyone else mentioning it, so I'd say go for it.

Tone is more important than durability.

At first I thought about standard.

Then I thought about women. It's like, if they're nude, ok they're hot. But with just the right kind of clothing in just the right places, they're off the charts. (Wait a minute, what forum are we in? :p)


I think a pickguard brings out and enhances the figuring in the top.

All the above in IMHO.

No need to.

The reason I wanted them to be stainless steel in the first place was that before today, I did not know of anyone in my area that could actually replace worn out frets. Now I do, so durability isn't an issue anymore as I can swiftly have him replace them when they are worn out.
