I think your wood combo sounds fine, and I would urge you to go 60's spacing if you play a lot with a pick.

Or should I simply mod a Metro with BS???

I would never recommend mod'ing an expensive instrument. Sell it and get one that fits you better to begin with.

This is my next bass. It'll be here in a few days:

Im so glad you are coming back to the Sadowsky team. I knew you wouldnt be gone long. Sadowsky Basses are all awesome and this TB Sadowsky Group is the best.

I didn't even think to ask for the S# to run it through Sadowsky. I'm not sure they even have stock pages for the stuff that goes out through dealers.

I think he was referencing that Metros come equipped with Morado, which if I remember isn't really a rosewood, and tonally is closer to maple than say for instance brazilian/indian/madagassar rosewood. I'll let Vic chime in though.

I didn't even realize there is no rosewood available on a Metro. Makes sense though. I'm really not overly worried about it. My RBV was alder with that FB (I think Fender calls pau farro, but I believe it's the same thing) I didn't have any "fear issues" :) with that bass. The FB on the Fender looked pretty much exactly like this one, so your speculation is likely correct.


And, if I don't like it, I'm sure someone else will be tickled to have it!

I guess I have to forgive Bass San Diego and myself as well. The sadowsky site calls it rosewood as well on the Metro general page.

I don't know why I never put two and two together. I have seen many "morado" references on the TB thread, but every time I ever looked at the Sadowsky site, it never once registered that the rosewood references were actually not what we traditionally think of as rosewood.

Morado is called Bolivian Rosewood as well as Caviuna and Pau Ferro. The rosewood you are probably thinking of is East Indian Rosewood which is one of my least favorite fingerboard woods.
