Have a look at this Sandberg, Tony Leva's. Looks like a flamed maple top Booster though the horn looks a bit too rounded. I've been quoted on that finish as a 4'er, for the $'s I'm thinking about getting it as a 5 and switching to 35 scale. Bright green for me though.

ooohhh nice, i love sandbergs green. i was thinking of getting my PM5 a 35" (dont know if it was not offered as i have a maple board?) but after playing a few 34" 5 ers in the shop i found the extra was not needed for me.

Thinking of buying a Sandberg Panther (5 string fretless) can anyone tell me it's weight, and I would love to see some independant reviews that compare it to other basses around the same price range. Just need to know if I'm making the right choice.

So Sandberg makes 5'ers in 34 Scale ? I was told they their 5'ers all have to be 35 scale.
I haven't seen a 35" scale anything from sandberg, four, five, six, or seven strings - all 34". Their B strings are thunderous even with that extra inch.
Check the website: Currently (looking at the California P only) it looks like 35 is an option for 5 string.

Mate! Sorry I completely over saw your questioning for a number, I think the pic of that greenburst PM4 just blew my mind of so I didn't look any further.
Of course you get a number and with great honors for owning such a hot bass!

I understand you are in the position of buying a bass but can't know for sure which is the right choice, it is annoying when one can't try out all the basses that come in questioning. I would really like to help you further on, so please tell me what exactly your expectations are and which other basses are in question. Maybe I might also not be the best guy to help you out, because whatever basses I play or own I still always get back to liking Sandberg. The reasons are because they are really superb quality basses for a price that I can afford, the clear and powerful tone also got me very much into them. This you can find on all the models.
The sound of the Panther is spectacular, it really is a modern and different bass to all others, just the pickups are specially designed only for the panther and that positioning of the magnets is not wrong at all, there has been put a lot of thinking and creativity into the design of the panther.
It is a pitty you can't try it out for yourself, but any help you need please let me know.

Guys, I'm quite smitten with a Basic PM4 I've seen in blackburst. I normally play P basses and Rays so this bass plays right into my wheelhouse tonewise, although due to the placement of the MM p/up it does have a more jazz edge than on a Ray. The neck width seemed quite narrow to me (one of the reasons I play Ps and Rays) but still quite comfy, I've looked for the neck specs but can't a width anywhere can one of you guys tell me what the width at the nut is please (inches or mm are fine ). There also seems to be a dearth of reviews for this particular bass, has anyone done one on TB (yeah I've searched, but ultimately life is too short and I've got repairs to the house that need doing) or do you know of any elsewhere. Rest assured that if I get it I'll be posting here ASAP! Thanks.
