Jaquo, I think you may be misunderstanding the word "handicap" as I believe the poster was using it. I read it as golf terminology- the fifth string being equivalent to extra strokes and therefore, easier to play or more versatile. By extension, a 4_string would be playing with "no handicap" and Tony Levin's 3- string is like adding 6 strokes- get it? I also believe he was being (kind of) humorous. His joke (?) was not very funny, too subtle, and nonsensical to a non-golfer; but joke or not, he was polite. I realize it isn't incumbent upon me to explain the jokes of others (I have my hands full explaining my own humor). But maybe you can stop badgering him (and the rest of us reading this thread) now.![]()
