Thanks my man. The B:assmaster is already in play as well. They do different things, in fact. To me, there is a more than subtle difference between the two, the B:assmaster being somewhat more buzzy and bright, the Depth Charge being able to provide more bottom. The B:assmaster to me is like a Depth Charge combined with a Prunes & Custard.

Ive read through this whole thread and I have never been much of a NIN fan but Justin....you have opened my eyes to them and Im really loving your playing on these two videos Ive watched. I love your tone "Letting You" . I can hear Geddy Lee and Chris Squire in that tone.

My thoughts exactly ! I've never been much of a NIN fan , I liked a few songs here and there but that's it. I must say after seeing these vids I am VERY much impressed. I've been a fan of JMJ for awhile but ALL of these guys (NIN) are F**king awesome ! The drummer is sick !!! Definately a "must see live" band for me !

HOLY SCHMIDT!

ok justin - great stuff - really - BUT . . .

is Alessandro really playing an Ondes Martenot?

Are you guys gonna tour with that thing?

awesome.

btw - I didn't see the butt probe in these videos. why not? ;)

Perhaps it's a remake of that same piece, it's called a "French Connection".

ahhh yes - that makes more sense. The original was a fairly large piece of furniture.

Those videos have just ended any second thoughts I had about putting Model J's in my Geddy.

ditto that. and every drummer I play with from now on MUST also have a Lemur. ;)

Line outs going everywhere...for instance, splits on drum mics going over to keyboard world and being maniplulated by audio inputs to modulars and/or inputs to Reactor or soft synths...that kind of thing.

Drum machine is a Jazz Mutant Lemur controlling a 32-step drum machine in Reactor, I think.

Dubmon, it will, yes. I have a couple of pieces in my rack that are Midi Controllable: Eventide Modfactor and TC G-Force. But this is particularly the case when I'm playing keyboards. We're getting into all of that right now.

THe gear evolution has been interesting. Because of the extremely elaborate staging and lighting which is more involved than anything NIN has had before (don't ask for details anyone: I can't share), I might even be stepping into the world of no cabinets on stage, and just relying in ears mixed with a subwoofer, which I've done before and actually sounds really rocking...especially when you have NIN style, very expensive, dual-driver top-shelf Westone ears. More to come.

Very fun, y'all. Lots and lots of work. So much behind the scenes. During this tour I'll be playing every instrument under the sun, so my work these days involves the learning of a 70-song repertoire in combination with developing a very flexible rig and sorting out lots of instruments to work with it. Phew. Rehearsal today was 12 hours of that, pretty tired.

Plus right now, in tandem with all this, a very very deeply ambitious light/video show is going on along with it, which we are all involved in.

But fun is being had for sure, and I'm really excited to get on the road.

G'night!

awesome! I'm assuming then that Trent likes to have the freedom to call audibles from night to night.

hmmmm..... ever think of "publishing" the NIN Real Book?? :smug:
I've got $40 here somewhere... at least that's what my buddy was charging for Real Books when I was in College :p

very cool to check in on this thread/gig J. and thanks again for hangin' with us.
