Very fun, y'all. Lots and lots of work. So much behind the scenes. During this tour I'll be playing every instrument under the sun, so my work these days involves the learning of a 70-song repertoire in combination with developing a very flexible rig and sorting out lots of instruments to work with it. Phew. Rehearsal today was 12 hours of that, pretty tired........
In all seriousness, there's plenty of smiles all around. Everyone is super cool, and very much there to ultimately have a good time playing meaningful music.
During the show, I don't expect smiles to be normally in great supply, yet not taboo. Maybe like a Radiohead gig? I don't know.

Glad to read NIN are heading out with a stellar line-up. All the best!
I recently stood in the rain for upwards of four hours watching Radiohead and Bat for Lashes. Aside from being VERY wet, it was great. And Thom even smiled and cracked jokes. Saw you and your minature doppelganger at Meadowbank with the 'head a while back, which was a great day out. Aren't Deerhoof mad, in the nicest possible way?
I can't wait for this DVD footage

Awesome
Gear needs to be oriented toward the show, that's basically all I can say. It's partially visual, partially sonic, in terms of isolation and an ideal mix.
With my very expensive in-ears and a subwoofer nearby, I have the sickest bass sound I've had in a long time, which I can hear in any circumstance.
