dont know if this has been mentioned but my buddies were going to play the tunes from the freecreditreport.com commercials in between songs . . .![]()
Very good point. Sometimes song breaks give a moment for people to actually hear each other talk for a brief moment so keeping it short and simple is good. I watched a friend play a while back who is hispanic. Inbetween two songs, he introduced the band and then said "I'm the other white meat"for us we run samples in between songs...we create them on a program called fruity-loops...it a really cool beat maker program with countless possibilities...its great for three reasons....keeps the flow going, gives us and the vocalist a break and builds up our energy going into the next song......but that works for US due to the fact our music more melodic and progressive and we like keeping a certain ''mystic'' to our style....we're big on the ''shut up and play theory''......I played in bands that did alot of talking inbetween songs..tried to get the crowd involved...and i feel like you lose alot of the audience when you kill the flow with excessive talking.....i know i usually walk away and grab a drink when im watching a band do this.....to me,thats ''audience break time''..but thats just my opinion......its a very subjective subject...a ''to each his own'' kinda deal.......theres no right or wrong answers, just advice..........it there was a right answer,we'd all be signed![]()
You aren't Arlo Gutherie so you go nothing to say between songs. IOW to quote the great Frank Zappa, 'shut up and play' Just my $.02Lookin' for suggestions on some cool things to say
