Covers Better Than The Original

I love Prince.....Sinead O'Connor has already been mentioned.....but then there's this gem:

And well......Prince wrote this too:

I'm a BIG Depeche Mode Fan......but also love Rammstein's version of Stripped....

Lots of /\/\etallica fans on this thread.....No Whiskey in the Jar???

New Order is awesome.....but this isn't bad!

Unfortunately.....my vote goes for Nine Inch Nails.....but it's cool that Miley Cyrus has been doing covers lately!

And how about a shout out to the Kate Bush Song for all those Stranger Things Fans
This cover has hit the radio:

Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera, Brian Eno and more awesome people making this always makes me happy

But must say i love that full citar & cymbals sound of the original off the Beatles too. Let's just say i started to notice and listen to Revolver more after i learned about that 801 Live song.

Then there is the american recordings. the 6 albums Cash made after his wife passed away. Hurt is mentioned many times already and i love it. Personal Jesus is awesome and there is this one Sting song: I hung my head. When i attended a Sting concert in which he performed it, the applause afterwards was nice but not overwheling, after which Sting said: yeah. i like Johhny Cash's version better too.

My big one is under this heading is “You Can Leave Your Hat On.”

Original - Joe Cocker

Cover - Etta James

And, the somewhat ironic part is that Joe is mainly known for his awesome covers. Yet, here we have Etta out Joe-ing Joe. I know awesome gets overused; but, EJ’s cover is in that zone. Def got the funk. That’s my ref when one of my gigs does it.
