I suspect soon we CP Thornton heads will get some great information on that new bolt-on with the raised thumbrest!!

I hope so too Nightman, I got the ball rolling with a new programmer but as everyone in business knows sometimes the wheels turn slowly.
Well, now that I have my bass speaker G.A.S. under control I can get back to saving $ for my build for one!

Hi gang. Well, I did it again. Bought another CP creation. As mentioned in post #187, I have the 5-string B-026. Found out for the first time ever, there was a repeat of that serial number on a four string; a four string that was on it's way to Austin Guitar House (AGH) no less. So, I waited.
Then, the day came I was free for a bit from my day job, and ventured to AGH. I like going to the House of Oz, as 1) he's a great guy, and 2)he carries the same bass gear I run thru (Mesa D-800 and a Bergantino CN212). That way I know I am hearing what it will sound like once I leave his shop. I walked in and John Files (another great guy) pretty much knows why I'm there. He gets me set up, and hands me the bass. First note. Second note. I adjust the knobs a bit. I run up and down the neck. I sit for a few seconds. And then I cut loose. John walks away. I keep going.
By this time, two of my friends show up, as I asked them to. I keep playing, looking at them with 'that look' of a man who is deep in the musical equivalent of the plak tow. They ask me questions, but I don't hear. After another minute or so, I hand it over to one of my friends, who is a great guitarist, and can play bass like a fiend; he knows how to play each as they should be played. While he keeps playing, I walk out into the rest of store, to get a feel for how it sounds at a distance.
Cutting to the chase, John comes back around, and I hand him the bass. "Take it up front, put it in the gig bag." It's a done deal.
The feel is fantastic, the look is stunning, and the balance of tones is perfect. The lows thunder and growl, and the highs (G string and up) stay full and resonant. Everything in between is...well there are no gaps or dead spots. I've had it home for about three weeks now, and it is simply the best bass I've ever owned or played.
Oh, and I now own the only two same serial number basses, in four and five string.

I'm very happy that you're loving your new bass ATX. If I can ever find the time to get down to Austin I hope to meet you along with Oz, John & Brent and another person named Neil who bought one of my Improvs from Oz. Again, thank you for your purchase.
@atxokayestbassplayer, I think having two CP Thornton basses with the same serial number is like finding a minted double-headed Silver Dollar!!
@CP Thornton, I just noticed that the fingerboard on #026 4-String doesn't look dark like the others. Is that not Torrefied Birdseye Maple on it?
Yes Nightman it is torrefied, it just isn't torrefied as much so it would tie in with the color of the non torrefied Ash back.
