Creepiest Album Covers

In the early 90s, John Zorn's various projects all had cover art using black and white photos of murder scenes, executions, century-old bondage porn, and human dissections. Either he got tired of it or his labels decided they were limiting potential sales (one Painkiller album was destroyed by UK Customs at the border because of the cover art), because by the middle of the decade the designs moved in other, tamer directions. Most of the albums from that early period got new, less edgy, cover art when they were reissued.
You can look 'em up on Discogs or Wikipedia, but I really don't recommend it unless you're sure you want to.

I managed a record store back in the mid-70's and people were always opening the shrink-wrap on that Stones album to pull down the zipper. Can't tell you how many of those I had to pull the zipper back up and re-wrap with new shrink-wrap.
