CWB 12 - The Dirty Dozen

Very nice! What pedals did you pick up? I'm looking to pick up a flanger and an overdrive pedal.

Um. I don't know? They're pedals. I've never bought pedals before. They do.....stuff?

Let me see if I can translate into something other than gibberish. We played with them in the store, and they made cool sounds.

A Bass Synthesizer pedal - that made some really cool funky sounds and some some really awesome sounds that I can't describe but that I liked.

An Analog Phaser pedal - I have no clue what that did, except make it sound different. But I'll figure it out someday and be able to explain it. If you can tell me, then I'll figure it out faster and it'll be far less painful and frustrating.

A Phase Modulator pedal - Again, I have no clue what it does, but I liked the sounds. I'll figure it out. I always do.

The best thing about them all - they were deeply discounted - and once you set the knobs the way you like them, you can click them down into the body of the pedal and you won't screw up the settings with your toes.

Oh yeah - I got a cool little daisy chain thingie to connect them all together, too. At this point, I think my gear to talent ratio is seriously skewed, but you only live once..... :D

I'm pretty new as far as effects go. I did a bit of research and can tell you that the phaser pedal gives your tone a swirly effect..which is similar to what the flanger does.

If you lived in Florida, we could figure them out and figure out how to describe them. I saw one called a Sparkle Drive - I was afraid to ask. I already live near Disney, and I didn't think I wanted to deal with any more glittery dust in the air.

LOL..I, too, live close to Disney. I know what you mean.

There are a lot of effects that do some cool stuff. I had a multi-effects pedal that, while cool, was a pain in the butt to make changes to. My favorite was the overdrive setting (gives your bass a heavy fuzzy tone). The phase and phase shift (modulator) pedals would be really cool to have.

These all did really cool things, otherwise I wouldn't have bought them. Well - maybe I would have. If I didn't like them, I could have sold them on e-bay for under list and more than what I got them on sale for. LOL.

OOOO that synth pedal is fuuuuunky. Me like.

If I got all the details right, you should be able to pick that up at your local Guitar Center as a President's Day special for $18. It's not listed on their website, but my local store had a copier printout ad at the door. The signs weren't up on them, but the store manager gave the deal to me, Nestor, and one other bassist who I see in there a lot when I'm there.

They don't have any markings on them that's visible from the outside, but the plastic coating was still on the screws, and the back plates, so I'm assuming that they're the originals. If that assumption is correct, they are some custom-wound jobs according to the only thing I've been able to find so far on the interwebz that gives any details.

Thanks!

She's back to work. More than that, she'll have to tell you herself. :ninja: I miss her though.

Ah ok. Yea, I had noticed that she wasn't around so much anymore. I was wondering why 1 week turned into a month, but it's none of my business if she doesn't feel like putting that out here on the interweb. I like it when you all are on here, I'm addicted to the Thumpketeers :help:
