CWB 14: Whiskey and Beer

Have to say, the Broken Glass finish on the DWs makes them my fav...but I'm going on nothing but looks.

And Mike...are you all clean shaven in the Slingerland pic?

The DWs are cool. They have actual crushed glass in the finish. They are whatever color the stage lights are.


My face is clean shaven in the Slingerland pic... but my head isn't, crew cut, very short.

As promised, here are a couple links. Nothing special or extravagant as seen above, but works for me! 1957 Ludwig sparkle blue kit, all original pieces (though some are not being used and are in the box in the background) and great condition for their age. The "tom" in the top left is the old snare, we just removed the chains and stood it up higher

Mike, great kits! I love the DW kit, but I have to ask... Paiste cymbals? C'mon! What happened to the Zildjian love?!

I have about forty Zildjians including full setups of "A"s, "K"s, K Customs and Costantinoples. I also have full setups of Paiste Signatures, Paiste 2002s, Sabian HHX, Sabian AAX and Bosphorus Traditionals. I play whatever strikes me at the time.

You know, that movie where the injured guy becomes one of the natives because he finds out that the bad bad humans have come to take over a planet to exploit it for their own purposes.....the one that takes like 3 hours of your life to tell you how much you should be ashamed being a human, the one that takes like three hours of your life to make you feel guilty and sympathetic to a bunch of CGI giants? You know, the one that tries to portray an element of American history but doesn't get the point or principle across nearly as effectively or with the emotional impact of "Dances With Wolves?"

You know the movie, right?

That one....."Avatar".


But at least the CGI was pretty cool.

Seriously - I never saw Avatar. I'm a sci-fi geek, but that one just didn't even come close to my "this would be cool to see" list. I thought the concept was.....um.....preachy. I don't like preachy.

I'm big into Sci-Fi stuff. With all the fanfare, "Avatar" actually sucked....the CGI was good, but that's about it.

I see you like Star Trek. Me too. I was a fan of the re-boot with JJ Abrams "Star Trek". I actually always liked Star Trek over Star Wars. As a kid, I watched, and taped, most of the Star Trek re-runs. And I saw all the movies when they came out in the theaters.

I got misty at "I have been, and shall always be, your friend."

"District 9" was not too bad. I liked that one. But my real secret pleasure (Sci-Fi wise) are the Alien/Alien-Predator movies.
