DT -

That's cause you're a Semper Fi kind of guy, one of Chesty Puller's boys. No quitting ever.

I know the drill.

My young cousin just pulled 2 Iraq tours and 1 Afghan tour. Danish Army unit attached to NATO forces, driving a tank.

Got 2 wound medals. From IED's or whatever you call them. He made it. I think he re-upped, lost touch with him after he got back home. Good kid.

Yes, yes I am. My grandfather was a Marine, too. He was in the Pacific and in Korea. I really do miss that man.

That's cool about your cousin. I tried doing the reserve thing in 2004 after having been out for almost ten years. It was a royal pain in the arse. Trying to balance family, my regular job, and the Marine Corps was more than I could handle.

Okay everyone - The floor is DONE! Waiting for paint on the shoe mouldings to dry so I can put those down. Headed for Lowe's now to pick up my blinds and some wire caps for the ceiling fan. I'm soooo grateful this project is about over. If I wasn't so darned cheap, I'd hire a contractor to finish my remodeling, but since I am, it'll be another couple years before I get over this and start the next project.

That's awesome. I am looking forward to seeing pics!

I've officially (o-fish-ially) seen it all.

One of these is on my local CL for $100.

Uh, you remember I have the exact same 'Ray, right? ;)

Thanks for the info. Based on what I've read I'm kind of surprised by what you said, but no piece of gear wow's everyone so I'll definitely consider what you said. I took a look at Schroeder's site and, holy crap, those cabinets are LIGHT!

I know you've got the exact same 'Ray, but it looked so different with the lighting in the photo, I though I'd identify it. That was the only bass I used at practice today. 5-string HH 'Ray can cover a lot of ground.

As you can tell I'm a huge Genz Benz fan, but I'm also objective. I'm going with the Neox 212 4-ohm to move some air at the upcoming gig, but I can't say I love this cab. The Schro's have a lot to offer at the size and weight.

Our good friend TBird 1958 rocking his bird.

Killer player, great act. It kills me that our right hand technique is very similar. I pay no attention to back and
forth, but just whack it so it sounds the way I like.

TBird1958 is an amazing dude and has a lot of cojones to be feminine like that. A Seattle-Vancouver trip is on my list and if I get there I def want to go see TBird's band. :bassist:

my three finger technique is pretty limited.

I'm more of a thumb plus two fingers player.

My grandson threw this little thang in his first day of school picture as he got on the bus for kindergarten last fall. His dad was so excited that he posted it to FB. My daughter was humiliated beyond belief. Guess who's side I was on? :ninja:

Taking a little break from the remodel to check in and say hi.

Floors are done.
Shoe mouldings are in and the filler is drying now so I can touch up the paint (after the blind yet tonight)
Door stops are installed.
Threshold is laid out and marked, but I can't cut it till morning.
Blind is below the window and waiting for an install (that's next).
Ceiling fan is assembled and ready to be put up in the AM.
Furniture is staged.
TV is waiting for install.
Basses are whimpering in their cases and can't wait to get in.

I am SO grateful this project is almost done.
