Only two strings away from an attitude problem.

John would require a weed-wacker to get his hairiness 'scaped into submission. The man has a pelt, I do believe.

The Deej said:I have a question for all y'all, as I am a baby bassist and new to electric guitars in general and require knowledge.
What are pedals used for?
To make the bike go?
No, kidding ofcourse.
Pedals (aka "stomp boxes") do all kinds of things. Some do one specific job while others do a bunch of them.
Some examples;
Distortion - to give a raunchier over-driven sound
Chorus - adds in harmonic notes to the note you are playing
Octave -adds the same note 1 octave lower to the note you are playing
Other pedals can record short sequences that repeat so you could record a few bars of a riff that repeat for a whole song and let the pedal "play" that for you while you lay a different line overtop of it.
That is just a few examples of many possible options. I have a Digitech BP90. It does a ton of stuff but I don't use it very much. More for experimenting as these kind of effects don't really apply in what my band plays. I just run clean into my amp.

I have a Digitech BP90 as well. I use it as a pre-amp and have assigned one channel for distortion.
I have the BP 200.. I use it for practice. . It has a jam along input, so I can plug in my laptop, and plug headphones into it as well...
In my country band I use a Radial Bass Tonebone that gives me 2 separate channels of EQ & volume controls plus an additional boost switch for that important solo in Brown Eyed Girl (LOL). One channel is set flat and the other I rolled the top & high mids off to give me a fatter less hi-fi sound for some tunes (MY Girl). Signal to pedal then my Yorkville 210 combo amp.
Well that covers points 4 & 5, but what about the rest? You're theme song should have some sort of lyrics that at least allude to your evil attitude. (holy hell....what thread is my theme song posted in...lol)But good start anyway.
We'll have to find something to battle over.
Also, Lee reminds me with his cat (and raccoon, now as I'm writing), that it helps is you have some sort of interesting pet (huge extra points if it's something you created in a lab) with either a power, unique look, and/or general bad attitude towards anyone but you.
Science teacher is an excellent alter ego to exist under when we're not doing some sort of hero vs. villain thing.![]()
Just so you know...there IS something really hot about the "librarian" glasses... I think most guys here will agree with me on that
And that, my friends, is why I married a Librarian! Well, just one of many reasons, really...
Couple of others too but that was the bulk of it. What did you practice tonight?
