It's the thought that counts. Thank you! Details in a later post. But it rocked.
Tat, I'm eager for details.... You can't keep a girl waiting. I'm gonna have to break out the pout if you don't hurry up and share.

We've been talking about your boobage for 3 pages now, I think that qualifies them as Hypno-Boobs. A very powerful super power. I hereby declare you The Boobinator. It's an awesome responsibility. Use your power for good, not evil.
I'll work on it.
Does anyone remember the episode of Ally McBeal where Elaine invented the Vi-bra? I can't find a clip!
Maybe just a little evil? Please?![]()
Okay boys and girls......since PA has offered to pout for us, and I know the rest of you are waiting with baited breath based on my PMs.......
IT. WAS. AWESOME.
Couldn't sleep last night because I was so excited. Finally dozed off about 1:45 AM this morning. Woke back up at 3 because I was thinking about stuff that had to be loaded, so I ended up getting up and going to load it right then (duct tape, masking tape, gaffer's tape, extra stands, cables, etc.) Went back to bed about 4 and got up at 5:45 to walk the pooch. Hit the shower at 7. Was out of the house by 8:10 headed for John's house (my buddy and the BL). Traffic was good and so was the karma.
Got to John's at 9. Backed in to move gear between vehicles (last minute decision to consolidate all of John's gear, Brett's (lead guitar) gear, and my stuff into one truck) and reload my truck. Got to the dock at the library - YES, We played inside a library - and unloaded and headed inside to set up.
Room was immense - a big cavern the size of a gym, but low book shelves in all the side spaces and this big center open area with a huge stage in the middle. I don't know how big that stage really was, but I think it was bigger than my garage. I'm pretty sure it was bigger than my garage. I really thought that the room would swallow up the sound, but the acoustics were pretty sweet.
They had seating set up for about 60 people. We had about 25-30 through the whole show. During the hour, in the library stacks on both sides of the stage area we had a rotating crowd of audience of about 15 people or so. It was an active listening crowd, too - and we managed to get a couple of dancers out in the hallway by the elevators.
The set list -
World I Know - Collective Soul
Whiter Shade of Pale - Procol Harum
Use Somebody - Kings of Leon
Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
Hotel California - The Eagles
Jasmine Wind - Rub Her Sole (an original)
Radar Love - Golden Earring
Lawyers, Guns & Money - Warren Zevon
Losing My Religion - R.E.M.
Love Her Madly - The Doors
Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen
At the last minute of Thursday's rehearsal, I got told, "get in that cabinet and get a tambourine and get your hands out of your pockets." So 12 hours to figure out what to do with that and I still had to sleep. After the gig, John told me this, "Your vocals rocked, but you've got a long way to go to make a living as a tambourine player." I mean, really. What did he expect when he only gave me a few hours to learn a whole set on a new instrument? Seriously?!.
It all went down without a hitch. People stayed afterward and told us we did a great job. There IS video - but we're not finished editing yet. Right now it's all in a single big long block and needs to be cut into song-sized pieces for sharing.
I will tell you this now that it's over. Dream accomplished. I'm a very happy camper. And, if I had known this is what it would be like when I was 18, I would have told the whole world to take a flying leap and gone after this all those years ago instead of letting the stage fright take over. This was SO much fun and I can't wait until the next one.

Thank you thank you thank you......
Then.....the good karma (carma) ran out. Got back to John's and offloaded the lead guitar player's gear to his car. We're headed first to lunch, then to drop off the rest of the gear at the studio. We fasten the seatbelts. I plug in the iPod. Put the key in the ignition. Turn the key......
.....and......
......*POP!!!
Truck doesn't start. All the gauges bottom out. All the electrical is dead. First thought of the guys - alternator went out. I know better - the battery wasn't discharging while I was driving and that's usually the first sign of a bad alternator. Fuses are all good - starter blown. And when it went, it took the battery with it. (Towtruck driver thought so too)
So - call AAA. Then, we reload the gear from my truck to John's truck while we wait for the tow truck. Tow truck arrives 20 minutes later to take it over to the shop. They can't get to it until Monday. No worries, it's gotta be done. John drops me at the airport to rent a car and goes on to his evening plans. Fourteen rental car counters later, I discover there is only one rental car available in all of Orlando and it's going to the highest bidder. That bidder was NOT gonna be me.
Ended up calling my neighbor to come pick me up at the airport in exchange for gas, tolls, and a pizza and margarita dinner. Money well spent.

At least it didn't happen on the way.
What is happening in Orlando that is taking up all the rental cars? Is it even legal for them to have a bidding war on an f'ing car? Holy crap.
I think it's time for some online shoe shopping.![]()
It's convention season. And we have an awesome convention center - there are five going on at the same time this weekend and next week.
Not technically a bidding war, but there is no car on the planet worth $120 a day. I didn't even pay that much money to rent a Camaro for a weekend just because I wanted to drive one.

How freakin cool. Congrats Tat!
A weekend without a car def calls for online shopping spree.![]()
Nah - I'm saving up now for something in a Mesa. So - I might try to figure out how this pin nailer works and install the baseboards in the spare bedroom before my son and his gf get here on the 3rd.
If I get that done, then I'll start tearing out the carpet and mouldings in the office so I can paint and put down new flooring. And then...I do have all these basses to play.

Good For You !
I'm glad the good part was good, and I'm sorry to hear the bad part was bad.
