Rickenbacker factory specs are for a dead straight, no relief neck. That said, even though I usually play in standard tuning, I have loosened the E string truss rod on my 4002 (yes, "2," not "1" or "3") to get a little bit of relief so I don't get fret slap when I dig in, and i have had it that way for almost all of the 28+ years I have owned the bass.Yeah, I recently put those on my "waiting for neckrelief" fakenbacker. It had standard 40-100 which were way too floppy and the neck was dead straight because it didn't have enough tension on it. Now it has them for about two weeks on and the slight relief I wanted is indeed there. I haven't been a big fan of d'Addario's but these sound much like the custom Stringjoy's and Ric factory strings.
