Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

Hi, all. I decided to replace the stock knobs my MBD-1. I found these really nice metal ones made by Kilo International in the US which I bought on arrow.com for $25 shipped. I liked that they have this notch around the top and bottom of them but have the bold white marker lines, which I liked from the stock ones. They do have other options.

I'll play. Installed these just now. Not sure on the PD with the Hilbish, but the big obnoxious one is definitely staying :) I saw the big ones on the site and figured I have order one and try to put it on something, just too cool not to. The medium Hilbish will actually fit on the top of the PD, with about 1mm clearance but that Really didn't look right. What say ye?

Oh I like the knob layout on the PD but that Bloop? Whoa haha I actually put one of the large Oxbloods on my Bloop. It looks dope on there. Something about the Oxblood on the black, it makes it look all deep and vibrant colored. I used to hate Davies knobs. But ever since some of you guys started putting then on your pedals and in Oxblood no less, I love em now. They just look cool. They look good on the right pedal. Larger pedals mainly. Like Way Huge and so forth.

Sorry buddy, I can't get behind that giant knob on the Bloop.
It clearly looks as though it doesn't fit.

Maybe you guys are right about the large knob. I'll leave it for a min, see if it sticks. Though I am warming up to the Hilbish on the PD. Those Matamp/Orange/Hilbish knobs are like the James Bond of knobs: classy and bada$$ the same time. I would like to put some on my gray box MBD. That would look sick IMO. Also a set of the smalls on my special edition purple sparkle Black Sheep ftw.

Classy. They remind me of the Sadowsky knobs, which are my favorite on instruments.

Thanks. That actually does say quite a lot. The Bloop is so amazingly easy and sounds so good. I'm going to gig it tomorrow for the first time. Our doom band, after jamming for almost two years, has finally got it together enough for a show. It was slow moving :)

My three main tones through a Submarine and the power amp of a Mesa 400 are:

MBD
Black Sheep in Bloop
V4B in Bloop.

Haven't had enough time yet with the Para Drive to knock one of my go-to combos off yet.

While I still love it for the studio or at home, you’re right about them not doing these pedals justice. I have already spoken to 2 other guys about the MBD when they first got it. They would be on the fence about it, liking it but not sure about keeping it. I’d just tell them give it some time, wait till you get it in with the band, see what you think then. They understood at that point. When cranked, the Bloop and the MBD both seriously shine. It still surprises me how bright the MBD can be while still bringing serious thunder into the mix. Stays clear and punchy and precise, yet remains super solid in the lows and makes rooms shake and shiver. It’s the best!
