@father of fires I have a question about t-shirt sizing that hopefully *crossing my fingers* someone else on TB will benefit from.
How small is the small? Like, if someone occasionally shops in the boys section of department stores (asking for a friend), is it THAT small?

I dont know why I didn’t do this a long time ago but I’ve been having trouble stacking dirt when using the MBD-1. I thought it was just the nature of the beast, but i started running it first in the dirt path, now everything stacks beautifully!! I suppose it was just a force of habit because I have always ran fuzz>distortion>OD. Having the MBD-1 first really makes things sound much better. Stoked! Here is how everything is looking...
Yeah i reversed my order a bit last night too... mini 66 into mbd1 into bead fuzz was pretty nuts! Band practice for the first time in ages last night and the songs where we go full thrash the grind of the mbd1 is just so fitting.
I’ve been playing my MBD-1 first in the dirt signal chain too... sounds great driving the gasoline as well as the AO and VT.

My MBD-1 destroyed my love for Rat on bass...

I couldn't agree more. Since I got my MBD-1, I find myself using my MXR Bass Distortion Less, It's more controlled, that being said, I still use the MXR for parts when I want to blow the crowds ear drums.
The great thing with the MBD-1 is how controlled you can have it. It basically like having a Darkglass B3K that's been doing Leg Day for a month straight at the gym. It can do the doomy thing well but it can do the staccato djenty thing well too. Provides great versatility.
For hard rock/metal I love colorful dirt: Darkglass B7K, Tech 21 Oxford, etc. Also multiband OD: Brimstone XD-2, VFE Triumvirate, and I have a Tech 21 dUg pedal on the way in. That said, I often stack the MBD-1 into these pedals. F'r instance my B7K is set fairly low gain as my always-on tone shaper, and I LOVE kicking in the MBD-1 when I need more crunch.
For traditional styles of music I prefer neutral OD. The MBD-1 is perfect, at any gain level. Bottom line is that I don't use any pedal 100% of the time (I rotate 'em just for grins), but the MBD-1 can easily be used at 100% of my gigs, whereas I hesitate to use my colorful pedals for traditional genres.

They sound way different. Rat Tail still holds a place on my board.
I still like having a rat on my board too.
Yeah totally, but I now prefer the distorted sound of my bass thru the MBS-1.
I need all dirt.
