Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

So I'm walking down Miracle Mile in Coral Gables yesterday and I hear someone yell at me. I turn around and some dude in a car is saying he likes my shirt. I'm wearing the Damnation Audio t shirt and the dude yelling just happens to be Jonathan Nunez from Torche (and Nunez Amplification). What are the odds I'm wearing that shirt, walking in Miami, and I run across one of my favorite bass players. Pretty wild. It was just by chance that my ship pulled in to Miami and I had to head to Coral Gables to pick up a couple suits I had tailored. Crazy coincidence. I should have asked him for my Annex Bass Dirve LOL...

It's a signature model for one of my favorite bands.

I'm super excited about it.

Same as with the other two in the first photo, a modicum of patience and a willingness to research thoroughly go a very long way in helping a newbie such as myself invest his money in the right gear.

Extremely satisfied with what I can get out of the MBD-1, and that's only after two hours of tinkering.

I did (very) briefly debate whether to post a photo, but I excused myself with the last reply in the thread being from two weeks ago... oh, and the pedal looking great with the dark red knobs.

The camera on my smartphone is fairly basic and I do personally think that the pedal deserves a higher quality shoot, but I've attached the original photograph I snapped if you wish to use it for any purpose whatsoever.

Sharp! I picked up an extra set of 5 Hilbish knobs like the one on my white MBD-1.. waiting for the perfect pedal to slap them on though

My MBD-1 destroyed my love for Rat on bass...
I was really pumped about the Iron Pig but nope, MBD-1 wins.
Tryed a Rat Tail yesterday, surprise, MBD-1 still on top!

I guess it just depends on what you use them for. I could see that being the case though. For me, the RT and AOU and a fuzz are 4 different dirt sounds for me. But when I want to bring the thunder, the MBD1 rules. The AOU is there too though. I am about to swap out my muff for the Carcosa for a while. I miss that pedal being on my main board. Also, I need to experiment with the MBD1 in my pedal order like @bassmusic17 did. I think with the intro of the feT, it could def be worth while.

MBD-1 into B7K is a killer combo for sure. Same as you, I have B7K set for gentle drive, and I also dial in modern sizzle. I stack the MBD-1 into it for extra crunch on heavier songs, and when I get the settings right (which isn't difficult), I solo the MBD-1 for classic OD -- ZZ Top is my favorite example.

I totally agree, I wouldn’t change a thing about the MBD1. Saying that though, I wouldn’t knock Jeff for trying some new things with his circuit. That would be awesome too.

Uh, I also totally agree here. All my dirt sounds magnificent through the B7KU. I got that feT and it kinda threw my preamp section into a tizzy. I was trying to run the B7KU without the drive side, I love how it sounds. But then I found the drive side just can’t be taken away from my sound. It adds too much flavor for me. And it’s become a part of my MY sound. But the MBD sounds glorious going into it. I use the MBD1 for OD, the RT for straight raunch that cuts (does lose a little bottom but that’s fine with me), the AOU for smooth, present bass dist and the EHX green Russian for fuzz. I’m so set. I would like to start stacking the MBD1 with the RT though. Gotta mess with order.
