This is the whole point. Sometimes I hate my tone with a board full of mine and my friends pedals when playing at home.

I have NEVER hated my sound on a gig when using an MBD. It's always been good enough(tm).

Thanks for making stuff that sounds great through an amp. Some of us still like to play with other people in the room.

When evaluating tone, sometimes I have to remind myself that playing solo is a very different musical context than playing with guitar, synth and drums. I put the MBD2 back on my big board for a band session last night was reminded just how good enough(tm) this little gem of a distortion pedal is when playing live music.

This is honestly why I haven’t committed to the Curmudgeon yet. I honestly don’t think Im gonna put it back on board but I haven’t been able to play with the band yet, so that could change.

I try to tell people this all the time but sometimes they don’t get it. No offense to bedroom players, you do what you can! It’s just massively different depending on the type of band, the other peoples tones compared to your tone, and trying to make everything sound the best it can be cohesively.

Agreed… I try to dial everything for the band practice room and just “live with it” through headphones… my bands drop C songs through an amp are just a perfect match for that thick heavy overdrive with the thrash / groove songs they fit.
Don’t have the cash for a curmudgeon but would be interesting to hear what that sounds like swept through a wah playing low B (which is how I mainly use it on a particular song in mind… currently using sy1 with blended overdrive to get enough harmonics to get the cliff burton style wah scream)

it's just one into the other with two foot switches to turn each one on and off so i can have two presets (or three if i run them both on).
