Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

Simple question...when the feedback happens...where are YOU?
Facing the cabinets? How close are you? etc...

I'm sure you've thought of this but I just wanted to check.
Well it's a practice space so my options are a little limited, but yes, facing away and moving around until it is at least somewhat mitigated. I've simply taken to dialing the volume knob on the bass back, then hurriedly turning it up when the drummer surprises me with a an intro. The issue is that we have space in some of our material and I don't always want to sound like black flag.

So I ended up building a “home” or “second” board to use around the house. I think I’m gonna end up just using this as a primary board depending on where I’m going/what I’m doing. Both boards sound great, but man, the HXFX/rusty board sounds bad a$$. The color box is on there temp. I just wanted to mess with it. It’d been a while. There’s usually a fuzz there like the box of war brown acid. I’m always swapping fuzzes off and on boards.

That's no pedalboard, it's a space station!

Tried out some new knobs on the MBD2

Wow, congratulations! That looks super cool.
Thanks! John K's pedals are always beautiful works of art, but this one is absolutely stunning and exactly what I have kind of been wishing Jeff would have done at some point, but I know it's tough with the business he has coming in all the time. I've had my MBD going on three years now. It's my favorite dirt pedal. I am super excited for this one. A big shoutout to Jeff for letting John build this one. It's going to a good home:)

I'm in the buy 2 pedals camp personally. But I've given it some thought for sure and I don't want to ignore my customers more than necessary.

Are you all looking for something like a two channel drive (A or B) or a stacked drive (A->B)?

If you did a double-mbd, I'd love the ability to use each side independently and stack one into the next. Bonus points if you can implement a flip-flop switch - i.e. if side A is dialed in for OD and side B for distortion, flip-flop would give the option to go OD > Dist or Dist > OD. May sound weird with both sides being an MDB (rather than unique drive circuits), but one of the MBDs biggest strengths is how dynamically responsive it is based on what you push into it or stack after it. So having the ability to change that stacked dirt texture/sound without having to re-EQ each side would be awesome. Another case use for this setup - dial one side as a heavy OD/light distortion, the other side as an almost clean boost. Then you could use the dirt > boost to just kick up the volume or you could hit the flip flop switch and use the boost to kick the dirty side into higher gain. Oh...the possibilities.

ETA: I would absolutely buy something like this to try in my setup, but it would not be replacing two MBDs on my board. The flip flop function is what makes this a potential game changer - otherwise I would continue running my current distortion with an MDB-2 later in the chain like I've got it setup now.

So to be honest I don't think they stack well since you'll run out of headroom too soon and it becomes a noisy square wave. I'm leaning more towards a dual channel thing or a simplified high gain distortion circuit stacked with a lower gain overdrive circuit. Either way, besides you lot there's not a whole ton of requests so its never been high on the to-do list.

But maybe I can pull off a small batch of something soon.
