Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

Again, what exactly are you comparing? You're setting up a comparison between similar products that in fact have little in common in terms of purpose, construction, and more importantly economy of scale and staffing.

I'm comparing two blend pedals so I can't see how you can say they have little in common. One by Xotic that has a million bells and whistles and I can get for $176, and one by Damnation with a phase switch and I guess some builder mojo for three dollars more. In terms of scale, staffing and all that stuff, not my issue to worry about as a consumer. I just want the most feature rich pedal for as cheap as I can get it while still maintaining good QC. In other words, I am not comparing the DA to a Mooer or Joyo. I guess I just don't have the stars in my eyes anymore when it comes to indie builders. I mean, they chose to be in this business competing with the big boys. And I have the right as a consumer to question what I see. Since no one got personal I don't see the harm in the conversation. Or at least I don't think the conversation will steer anyone away from the DA offering.

What I meant by that was that most of my dirt pedals with blend sport the low passed thing. Probably should have made that clearer. Anyhow, hey, not telling you what to do, think, say or anything like that. Just giving my opinion. I probably should have known better though given how rabid the Damnation fan base is. It's like talking about god or something. I don't personally feel anyone is above critique, but hey man, whatever you feel is cool with me.

Right. And you made your point - that it is too expensive for you - three times. I see someone clearly wanting to get a response (rise?) out of folks, which of course is your prerogative. Telling people "not to get their panties in a wad" over a pedal release (in a thread for that brand) is not exactly a critique or a constructive part of the discussion.

Nobody here has told you you must buy this pedal or replace your X-Blender with it.

I guess you misread what I wrote. I did not say to not get excited over the pedal's release. That would be idiotic. I said people should not get too excited over a low passed clean signal as that is a fairly common thing in blends. I personally think there is a difference there, you may disagree. And no, I don't want any rise. My posts were responded to so I am responding in kind. This is a forum no?

Yeah, this is like the third or fourth time this dude’s popped up in a thread pulling the passive aggressive troll routine.
I don’t post in threads that don’t interest me, and I’m having a hard time understanding why someone would feel the need to carry on any sort of “conversation” about something that admittedly holds zero interest to them.
That being said, I’m pinching my pennies for one of these blends! Hoping that the pedals I have for sale actually move soon.

Man ,being in retail my whole life, price is not in the sum of the goods, but in the sum of the entire product. I purchased the blender and was excited about it, because I know the thought, craftsmanship, performance and after the purchase support I receive from DA. That is why I will spend my money with DA. He has taken care of my DA product and answered countless questions. So it's worth a few bucks more to me to support companies that support their customers. Just my 2 cents. And of course not saying others don’t but why mess with a good thing!

Don't sleep on the Contour Pre my friends! I've got one of the prototype versions and I keep it on all the time with my current band. It's a really fun little pedal!
I’m actually more intrigued by the Contour than the Blend..
I rocked an old Sunn SB-200 combo amp that had a contour switch that I’d always just leave on, gave my overall tone a lil extra “oomph!”
Wondering if this pedal is essentially the same thing. If so, it’s on my radar for sure.

I got to play it for a few days. Me and bassmusic17 messed with it for a bit. He made the comment it was a lot like the contour switch on the older GK heads. So I could see how this may be similar. It def adds that extra special something to your signal.

The mistake I made (and a lot of people make) is that I just tossed them out there and didn't take the time to explain the benefits of the pedals.

It's not about checking all the boxes. It's about filling a void in mine or your rig.

So I need to shoot some more demos and spend time explaining the pedals and all the potential benefits and uses.

I have yet to capture the Contour Pre accurately. I need to get a good bass mic.

I got it when I had it. But I wish I could’ve used it in more settings. But you had a show so I totally get why you needed back with the quickness. I’d still like to try it in more settings but you’re probably past the beta stage I imagine.

Playing with a new probject is exciting. I’m going to be overhauling my board and making a smaller one to see how it goes with these other guys I’m playing with. Something like the contour pre could really come in handy.

I can make some demo recordings off the DI on my Monique!

A new band? You get to use more effects? Very cool!

I forgot to comment on this. Yeah haha it sure seems like a lot of fun so far. Very nice guys and they seem pretty open about me and my style so it's pretty exciting so far. The other guitarists both us Line 6 stuff too, an older POD and a Helix floor. So we def have effects covered haha. I'm really looking forward to seeing what we all come up with together as the BL seems to really want a fresh writing partner in me. And I am happy to oblige :D

Plus, a really cool friend hooked you up with some great music for new inspiration.
