This looks great. I was thinking about picking up a MBD2 eventually to try, but this looks better.

It covers the range of the internal pre-gain trim on the MBD1 up through the 20dB boost on the MBD2 but is variable which allows for flexibility with gain staging. You can set the un-boosted sound for light growl and warmth and then hit the boost to get full distortion. You can also set the un-boosted sound for full drive and kick on the boost to take it over the top for high gain while retaining clarity. With a clean amp you can quickly access three levels of drive at your feet.

This is now a must buy.

I currently have 1 MBD2, and 2 MBD-1s.
An early 1 with fixed input gain, and later with the trimpot.

A hammer tone blue would slow my roll. But I’m just one data point. I’m still not in “need” of another distortion box, so I could easily wait for a color that trips my trigger.

This is exciting indeed. I'll be using it as an always on drive then kicking on the distortion when needed. Will now also have a wonderful problem of figuring out what to do with my current MBD-2 in my chain as well. Can't wait to experiment with them.

Good to see my idea for an MBD-2 'mod' get put into this new unit anyway with the boost switch. Love it. No need to go modifying my MBD-2 now

There’s nothing on YouTube for the new/V3 yet. The original was a big box with the input gain trim on the inside. V2 was in a smaller format with a 20dB pre-gain switch on the outside.

This latest version has something a number of folks talked about - that input gain/boost function on a knob for fine tuning and a footswitch so it can be engaged and disengaged without having to bend down and stop playing. It gives a lot of folks a 2-for-1. And the clean blend is new, a la the Dirt Fixer.

Oh man, I love stacking my MBD-2 with other distortions but depending on how much clank you can dial into this new one it might knock a few things off my board. Very exciting.
