Curious how the contour vs low passed blend thing works - I’ll have to look at the dirt fixer now
the one thing I could seriously see this working in is for my songs where I shift from an overdrive to mbd and hated switching pedals / tap dancing. staying with mbd and then clicking for a boost would be soo much better!

The dry blend uses the Dirtfixer contoured LPF in place of the previous LPF. I don’t know that the details of that contour shape have been made public, though I’d guess that some nonspecific elements of it have been discussed in this thread.
Typical low pass filters on clean blends are just a passive filter that rolls off highs gradually above a specific frequency. The Damnation Contour is an active filter circuit that makes multiple frequency adjustments at the same time to help the clean blend sit more nicely in the mix with improved clarity.
Will the dry and wet signals still sound fused together like in the 1 and 2? That's one thing I love about the MBD compared to other dirt pedals.
Yeah the design intent is to have the blended sound be cohesive rather than just distortion on top of clean.
I'm trying to think of a better way to explain it but I'm coming up short. IMO "hearing the difference" would probably be that you don't even notice there is a blend. It just sounds like one unified tone. The contour circuit is designed to reduce everything about a clean blend that stands out in a way that doesn't serve the mix. Its a lot of extra parts and complexity but to us its worth it as an evolution of the clean blend. Everything is iterative in the end. It takes us a long time to settle on designs because Damnation products tend to be extremely complex. The new version of the MBD has ~5 times as many parts as a typical distortion pedal to cover all the little bits and pieces we wanted.

Not looking to start any arguments, but I'd add Josh Broughton's name to the list.
To keep it on topic,
I'd love to see a collaboration between Jeff and Josh.
It would be nothing short of amazing for us basses players.
I’m not crazy enthusiastic about the scorpion, I prefer the curmudgeon 2 vs it, but I really want to try dystopia. I prefer Broughton for preamp emulations and filters
