Just picked up an MBD2. I've read about these for years and not been in a position to pick one one. I get the love for this pedal - but not in the way I assumed before trying it!

I was only ever going to use this for mild drive, but I thought it would be a bright\grindy kinda drive. I know this pedal can do that, but what I really gravitate to is mild drive with an 8 o'clock bump on the Depth. Man oh man - mild vintage overdrive and low mid growl for daaaaays, without sounding muddy. The Depth at low settings adds booty without mud.
Love it.
For me I does what I wanted the SGFX Beta to do, but the Beta had too much low end boost. The MBD2 has a bass boost for sure, but the way it's filtered keeps it fat and clean.
Please excuse the broken wardrobe

It's full meaty badass on the low end! Similar settings to how I have mine but I have the 20db switch up and the gain dialed around 7/8 o'Clock. My clean tone is this always on along with a Mojomojo, Sushi Box Space Heater and a Jive. Sounds like a lot of gain but it's ace I love it and have my pick up volumes dimed on my TBird.

Anyone else get some cool toys this holiday season?
from the Thanksgiving Sales I got MBD 3, Hagerman Value Boost. Ordered around the same time a Origin Effects DCX Bass, Boss OC-5, CMC Effects Civil War which arrived yesterday, & XMAS Day picked-up a Broughton Studio Boost Mini which the Moose will deliver after the New Year. Plus a bunch of other Items to create a smaller Gig Pedalboard. Since Mid November I've been a busy dude! :)

That's a ton of awesome gear. You starting a board from scratch?

Nothing too crazy; I've got a 3 leaf Doom 2 coming in. Got a Benson Germanium Boost; sounds massive hitting the front end of the MBD; still waiting on the 30th anniversary Nobels ODR-1, and I got my girlfriend a 1981 Inventions LVL that I hear is pretty nice on bass. I'll have to steal that from her for a test run!
