Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

I've been tempted to get a Whirlwind too, simply for more tone shaping, and cutting some of those unusable subs from my rig. I bet the MBD-1 would react really well to the Whirlwind too.

Lately, I've been using the MBD-1 boosted by the Barber Linden EQ, and it sounds soooo good! It's crazy to me just how versatile the MBD-1 is. For blues playing (I have only been using those two pedals), it does the job incredibly well.

I was skeptical, but echoing what others have said, you can really use the MBD-1 for just about any genre.

Thanks. Yeah the HX really let me cut my board down drastically. I just like the rusty box and it’s tone. It really brings my single to life. I’d been rocking the fx10 > rusty box > B7KU for years now. I’ve actually been considering replacing that trifecta with a whirlwind bass EQ lately. I know EQ can be a very powerful thing but that EQ is something special. You can get so many different tones from it. A lot like a preamp can do. Way more so actually.

I watched a few videos of the RB and yes, it does sound pretty great!

Repping the brand!

Borrasca

My band is playing our first show in Chippewa Falls, WI this weekend - and we're currently recording an EP.

My gold MBD-1 is still killing it!

I’ll say it again. Whirlwind Bass Ten Eq eliminated all preamps, darkglass and Rusty Box included. Hands down the best pedal I’ve purchased since Damnation.

Lol, I went to look it up and realized it's an EQ. Good eq points, but no overdrive to be found. I guess I'm keeping my Alpha-Omega still XD
Overdrive is an essential part of my tone, but that's great you found something that works.
(The MBD-1 came the closest to kicking it off my board but it hung in there)

I don’t need my preamp to be my dirt so it works for me. The Alpha Omega Ultra was weak sauce dirt wise anyway.

I have to agree with this statement. I tried the Omicron and thought it was pretty cool. My favorite Darkglass pedal without a doubt. I even planned a spot to put it on my board. Then I A/B’d it with my mbd1...nah lol. Traded.

How is it!?!
It’s pretty b**chin. It’s got a super aggressive tone. Just sounds mean...angry. I dig it. I had a long day at work today and just didn’t have it in my to do a demo but I will be doing one tomorrow after work and I’ll get it posted tomorrow night!

@father of fires what exactly does the depth switch do? It is a pretty drastic change when I flip it, very unique. I was curious what it’s acgually doing from a technical standpoint. Also, just out of curiosity how many of these were built? I noticed my box is labeled with the # it is of the build, just wondered how many there were.
Thanks Jeff, killer work once again :bassist:
