They just rock as a company man. I bought a used m-pulse 600 in 2012 and with my sick gear addiction...I haven’t even considered needing a new amp. I love Mesa. Their quality is top notch. Durable as hell. All of this to say, I’m not surprised their dirt is fantastic haha.

Im a Mesa fan as well. I run two Busters and a Diesel 215. Its tasty.

The Contour Pre has some mojo that makes the circuits juicy with a little boost. I really like what it does for preamps like the model feT and DA120. I've ended up using it for my board as an "always on". It definitely sounds like something is missing without it

Edit: I should've mentioned that I don't use mid forward gear and don't find the Contour Pre redundant. Its high low/boost but adjustable so you don't really have to change your set eq preference(s). Reminds me of stacking into the MBD-1 without the Gain

I was to slow on my decision to buy it or not and it sold.
Maybe another will show up.

One Buster is.. good enough, for me.

I wouldn’t want to move around two of those beasts.

They are lighter than an SVT. I actually have three but I gig with two. I also lug an 810 around for the other Buster. Totally worth it. The 810 is awesome though, super easy to move around and it’s crazy lightweight.

I stand by what I said. Bottle Rocket is way more brutal.

I'm not sure I was looking for a "brutal" distortion as much as an amp like sound with metallic clank and very grunty midrange, which the Alpha Omega delivers in spades.

And although I own a Mesa Bass 400, the Alpha Omega helps get me a tone remniscent of early Billy Gould, who never used a tube amp back then.
Like I said before, the MBD1 came the closest to that grunty tone in the midrange, but the Alpha Omega won out for me. I think both sound awesome, and both benefit from a bright EQ or OD in front of them(like the X in front of the AO or the Gasoline in front of the MBD1)
Terms like "brutal" mean nothing out of context because each persons idea of it is different. Depending on your bass, amp, and setup, each may work in different scenarios.

P.S. - I've heard clips of the Gasoline/MBD1 and I think they have a very similar character to thr X/AO combo I use. Awesome tone to be found with those two for sure.

It’s a beautiful day, the dogs need a walk, but of most crucial concern, I’M OUT OF COFFEE!! Otherwise I’d be messing with my newly arrived Bloop. A Damnation Audio branded ball point pen in the swag told me I made the right choice.

I love the pens, I use them at work and it ensures no one steals my pens. I can 100% call them out with no room for argument that it’s theirs!

Anyone know a way of tightening the power jack on the mbd? Mine is becoming quite loose and it’s becoming an issue. Like the when you plug in an adapter it has quite a lot of wiggle room to the point of where it wants to fall out.

What's loose? The jack? Or the power adapter's plug?

Either way I can fix whatever you need. Or a simple wrench could fix it if it's the jack.

The nut on the other side of the jack seems to be quite tight and the black plastic on the outside of the pedal doesn’t move. It’s moving around internally. But I notice when I plug the same adapter into the parallel drive, there is a distinct “click” where there isn’t anymore on the mbd. @father of fires
