Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

It’s pretty b**chin. It’s got a super aggressive tone. Just sounds mean...angry. I dig it. I had a long day at work today and just didn’t have it in my to do a demo but I will be doing one tomorrow after work and I’ll get it posted tomorrow night!

@father of fires what exactly does the depth switch do? It is a pretty drastic change when I flip it, very unique. I was curious what it’s acgually doing from a technical standpoint. Also, just out of curiosity how many of these were built? I noticed my box is labeled with the # it is of the build, just wondered how many there were.
Thanks Jeff, killer work once again :bassist:

Dammit, don't make me want one of these too. I'm gonna stay focused on my parallel drive. Damn you!

The depth switch is a high pass filter set at around 400Hz. Think of it as a guitar/bass switch.

I'm building 20 in the initial run. I had 11 preorders so 9 more will go on sale this Friday. After that I'll gauge interest before building any more.

After these and then a small batch of Black Ugly Twins I'm going back to pushing MBDs full time as I have the parts to build a bunch more and I haven't done much in the way of promoting them. I keep getting distracted by new ideas but the MBD is still my favorite pedal by far.

Cool man. I find the depth switch changes the character so much. It goes from like a fuzzier tone to a more Grindy distortion. It’s very cool.
Yeah the MBD1 is in a league of its own amongst dirt pedals haha.

I’m debating on if I should get the Contour or pass.
The EQ points mentioned are similar to what I have available with the Busters EQ.

The Contour Pre has some mojo that makes the circuits juicy with a little boost. I really like what it does for preamps like the model feT and DA120. I've ended up using it for my board as an "always on". It definitely sounds like something is missing without it

Edit: I should've mentioned that I don't use mid forward gear and don't find the Contour Pre redundant. Its high low/boost but adjustable so you don't really have to change your set eq preference(s). Reminds me of stacking into the MBD-1 without the Gain

Probably not as versatile as the longsword, due to it being a fixed eq and such, but with the mbd stacked into it...oh my

There is something about the LS I can't seem to jive with. Overall, I love it. I think I just need to adjust to it. Although if the PD gives me something I'm after more, I may end up flippin it. I really like the LS though. Really unique pedal.
