I also play my DC as my main bass, despite how awesome my G&L is, the Dano just has something the L2000 doesn't.

Get in!Can someone please convince me not to get this:
$300 - brand new w/ setup at the local shop.
The paint job is what got me hooked. GAS is acting up... I really don't need another guitar. (i think this would make 10 or 11)
If my research is correct, it is a 2009 Eric Clapton reissue (so I assume it is then Made in China?)
May I shamelessly ask the same question? Are there (unfixable) issues with the current reissue Longhorns?should I have any concerns about the made in china danos? Both of my others are korean and are fantastic (though the longhorn has slight intonation issues)
Might just do that! Thanks. We're mainly targeting the instrument owners... but feel free to lurk all you want. We love all things Dano.![]()
Um, right. Please don't buy that. Just send me a PM to tell me where you found it. I'll take care of the rest and you can save your money. Can someone please convince me not to get this:
Is that directed at the club or an individual?Just curious ... is the Dano your main instrument ? Do you have "name" basses as back up instruments ?
Having owned (and loved) both, the word the "something" is character. The L2000 is so PERFECT it's almost (ALMOST) boring. Though nothing gives that good G&L (except maybe an original Sabre - which is essentially an L2000 before Leo left MusicMan)I also play my DC as my main bass, despite how awesome my G&L is, the Dano just has something the L2000 doesn't.
The wood at the horns is relatively "deep" so you should be safe - I did what you are contemplating (ie strap button on the horn) on a 63 and have been just fine as the instruments are also very LIGHT. I would recommend filling the hole with glue and getting as long as you can find screw that will go through the Dunlop buttons properly and you should be just fine.Hi all
I'm about to join the club with a Korean lefty shorthorn DC. Can anyone tell me just how much of the body is hollowed out? I may want to replace or move the strap buttons and use Dunlop straplocks. Can I safely drill new screw holes? I may also want to add a thumb rest above and in front of the neck pickup, can I put a wood screw into the body there?
You'll get differing opinions on this.should I have any concerns about the made in china danos? Both of my others are korean and are fantastic (though the longhorn has slight intonation issues)
I did exactly that when I got mine in 2010. Voided the warranty but never needed it. It's totally the move, too. The strap button by the neck is pretty much useless.Hi all
