Used my Anagram for the first time at a gig. This was a gig with amps and honestly, I think I would have done better with a compressor, tuner and my Noble. If it were an IEM gig then the Anagram would have done much better.

Can you please share your presets?I just finished building preliminary presets for the four applications I’m in most frequently.
1. My “corporate” band doing weddings, private events, corporate events, etc. This band is almost exclusively IEMs. Since I still use an amp to rehearse tunes, I built a chain with an output block after all of the processing that I want happening in both locations. The output block sends output 3 to my amp. After that I have an amp and cab that only go to my IEMs via output 1.
2. An original band that I’ve described as “progressive soul.” This was a simple chain up front, but the footswitch effects were complicated. A synth sound using five blocks under one macro, an overdrive sound using three blocks under one macro, and a modulation sound using two blocks under one macro. The modulation is a combination of chorus and low level shimmer reverb that’s really cool. The synth sound used three blocks I previously said I disliked; Sublime, Alpha-Omega, and rhe Moog filter. It doesn’t sound as good as the version I built using three 3Leaf pedals (Octabvre, Doom2, Proton) but it’s good enough for live purposes since it’s only application in this band is during a solo feature.
3. A preset for gigs on electric upright. This was very basic up front always-on stuff. After that I used a split block set at 800hz with equal output to each row so that I could apply a room reverb to just the top end of the signal. This makes the electric upright feel a bit more like an acoustic. A merge block brings it back together.
4. An indie pop and blues band that didn’t need much. A little always-on processing up front, an overdrive footswitch, and a low pass filter at the end of it all to keep it less bright than my usual tone for other bands.
My next task is to build some purely creative stuff. I like having a few of these types of sounds available to spark inspiration when writing. Time to get weird…
Excellent. Do you want to share some presets?I used my Anagram at church again this morning. I received compliments on my tone from three people, the most ever!
Yes, you can activate more than one block in Stomp mode. When you are in a Stomp there will be a little + symbol on the top right. Touch it to add additional blocks.I just getting into Stomp mode. Can a stomp activate more than one device/block? Or does that take us onto Scene mode? Read the manual and watched some videos.....

I have it shared mode on the Anagram. It’s called Thick SVT, I do know how you find it though. Maybe someone can help with a comment on that.Excellent. Do you want to share some presets?

glad your liking your Anagram.I have had the Anagram since mid May ish. Been having so much fun with it. As far as effects go I basically just use distortion and compression, so I'm pretty set for now. Definitely looking forward to seeing how they update and curate the product and the community moving forward. It definitely could use some more amp models but I'm sure that will come soon.
Not all the compression. Specifically the Luminal compressorglad your liking your Anagram.
Seeing as how you are using distortion and compression, do you have any thoughts about compression after silky smoove's review of compression on the Anagram basically not compressing at all ?
not sh*t stirring, genuinely interested/curious

that makes some sense as many of the classic compressors are known to add some kind of tone "flavor" as well as compress the signal.I don't really have the best ear for that kind of stuff and generally use compression to a pretty light degree. I didn't notice that it wasn't compressing, but whether it was a placebo or not, the HL makes it sound a little better?
re-reading silky's review, he was also not particularly positive about the Buss compressor either. Not all the compression. Specifically the Luminal compressor

and silky is just one guy here on TB, and his review certainly swims against the current of lots of positive comments about the Anagram, but he historically is pretty data driven and quite detailed when talking about gear and how it works, or doesn't as the case may be.
Agree. Hopefully, Darkglass reads this thread, and take Silky's comments into account.Silky's review is probably the most sober and technically thorough, but IMO there is generally a good balance of both excitement and clear eyes about what the Anagram is today and what is promised. For the time being, it isn't replacing my main board, but I'm happy with what it can do right now understanding that it will take some time for the platform to evolve to where it can pull off some/most of the same party tricks that my bigger board is capable of. There are a few things I'd miss if I needed it to stand in, but I could absolutely strip things back a bit and make it work.
That being said, it isn't without its faults and a good bit of them (IMO) are attributable to teething pains on a very new platform. Not everyone is an early adopter, and wait-and-see is a quite sensible approach for anyone to take. It took the HX platform 10 years to get to where it is today, and we're what... 2 months in with the Anagram? There's a lot of road ahead, and so far they're hitting a lot of the right marks (IMO) on how to launch a new product and engage with the community.
interesting, why would a compressor that does not compress not cause any "regret" ? If a virtual device does not do what the original device does, I'm guessing that will be a problem for users.Agree. Hopefully, Darkglass reads this thread, and take Silky's comments into account.
When I've jumped in the HX Stomp train, the platform was already quite polished, so I've only seen firmware updates with additional blocks or features, but I haven't seen firmware updates with improved versions of effects or amps. So I wonder how a multi-effect company can manage this: once the users are already using these blocks, they spend a lot of time making their presets, so if a software update changes the way a block sounds and behave, it may be disturbing for users who already use them because it will change presets they have already built. I'm not worried for the Luminal Compressor because if the current version actually doesn't compress the sound, nobody will regret it. But for amps that can't be saturated it's a bit different: if Darkglass manages to update the amps blocks so that they can be saturated, users who are using the current versions may see all their presets sound differently after a software update?
Sorry, it's what I was trying to say (I'm French, sometimes my English is not so good). I meant nobody will complain if they fix a compressor that doesn't compress, but if they upgrade a virtual amp in order to make it possible to saturate it, some people may be annoyed even if the new version of the virtual amp is more realistic, because they may prefer to stay always clean and all their presets may suddently change after an upgrade. Imagine you upgrade just before a gig and suddenly all your presets sound distorted? Just wondering…interesting, why would a compressor that does not compress not cause any "regret" ? If a virtual device does not do what the original device does, I'm guessing that will be a problem for users.
