Has anyone here tried the TC with Nordstrand pickups?
Yes, Big Splits plus TC in a Mike Lull Jazz
Numerous good tones to be had with this combo, and quiet as a mouse.

Is there any difference or advantage in running the TC 9V or 18V (other than it's one more/less battery).
i will be, wont be for a while yet. shipping to Australia form the US is slow at best.

I'm wondering about this as well.
I've got a Nordy Bigman on my bass, which is sort of a MM, but sort of not, placed just north of the "sweet spot"
The pre on the bass is a Nordy 3B-3 with pull selectable mids, (50, 400-1k, 4k), but the treble knob really only ever gets rolled back, almost never boosted.
Just wondering how the Tone Capsule (70, 500, 2.8k) would work instead.

I have begun working on a new restoration project and am needing a used Tone Capsule. Sure, I could buy a new one, and probably will end up having to do just that, but in case someone was wanting to offload one, please let me know.

I can tell you, while they say they work with passive or active pickups, they really don't sound good with actives.
You may have a preference against the TC with active pickups like most EMGs, but to me, it's a better option with EMGs, more musical and versatile, than other preamps you see used with EMGs, such as Spector's tone pump or Aguilar OBPx pres. Gets me a better tone than anything except the venerable HAZ lab preamp.
I almost went with the tone capsule option on my new Dingwall Super J, but decided on the Glockenklang. I'm using Greenboy Fearless cabs which have separate mid drivers and Sheldon indicated it could be too mid heavy because of that. I have a glock in my other Dingwall and love it. But I also played a NG2 with the tone capsule at the 2016 NAMM show and was VERY impressed. Sounded like a Sting Ray on steroids.
Reviving an old subject, and maybe sort of a noob question, do you think Darklass Tone Capsule will fit into an Ibanez BTB 1606-DTF? I give the below link where there is the scheme of the controls. Thanks all for help.

Anyone tried TC on jazzbass with quarterpounders?
I just got me a new jazzbass that has EMG JVX pups and BQC preamp but I'm looking for sweeter highs, i feel that it's too sterile at the moment and highs pop out too much.
Bass has ash body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard.

This is about to go in there soon. I also ordered new pickups, I hope I get sweeter highs and massive low end with these upgrades.
I just finished installation on Schecter J Plus 5-stringer (comes with QPs). Wired it volume (with active/passive), blend, series/parallel-switch and TC controls.
I had to go and buy myself a dremel to fit all those pots and switches with TC unit. Perhaps I should have added a separate chamber under the pickguard for the unit but I was able to sqeese it this way - so mayby I'll mod it later if I have to open it again.
I was able to test it only briefly but the tones were just amazing. Clarity was the first thing I noticed.
I really need to put this in one of my basses. I've had one for a couple years now and haven't done anything with it. I tried when I first got it but changed my mind halfway through. Then I thought to put it on a J bass I have but then I would have to route and do that kind of stuff. I need to read this thread through and see how some of you did yours. Maybe it'll inspire me to install mine in one of my basses.
I have a the plug n play EMGs in my basses though, that's why I'm scared of doing it. Have any of you installed the TC into a bass with the plug n play EMGs??
