Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

Traditionally yes but the whole point of the Darkglass head is the distortion. You lose that when using pre.

Fair point but if you need both you can get the clean signal from the DI on Pre Mode and the affected signal from the Preamp Out 1/4" jack in the rear.

Is that preamp out balanced or unbalanced?

Unbalanced, a separate DI would be required in live settings where the mixing board is far from the stage.
For studio usage is irrelevant given that balanced outputs are merely used for the cancellation of noise produced in extremely long cable runs.

Ha Nice! Well, don't need the clean button, if you don't have the microtubes engaged. Unless it literally cleans the amp, like with a remote feather duster, lol

Replying to my own post, thought this was photoshop fun, turns out it's real, ha!

Still don't understand the clean switch, if the MT switches aren't engaged, would that not be your clean sound?
