Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

Just a guess on the new footswitch.

The one button version makes the change when you release the button.

The new version engages upon pressing. I hope.

My issue live was the timing, hold just a titch too long and.........
Mute Engages.

A disaster live when expecting raging, snot nosed growl and your signal gets muted.

Popped open the footswitch. As expected this probably isn't something we can DIY easily. It uses a PIC16F1823 microcontroller. I've seen guys do similar builds for MIDI footswitches. The DG switch looks cool. For my total shot in the dark prediction I'd guess the big switch will be $150 or so given the manufacturing cost and complexity. It is a much more complicated piece of equipment compared to something like the Strymon Multi or a basic TRS switch.

Note: I didn't pull the board to look at the other side. There are a couple through-hole capacitors on the other side along with the switch, jack, and whatever is in the top right.

Finally got our new EP mixed down. Was excited to use my new Darkglass Microtubes 900 exclusively for recording. Running straight out of the 900 into a Mackie Onyx 1640 with minimal ITB compression. Check it out if you are looking for examples of how these things sound for recording. Extremely happy with the results. Basses used are my Sadowsky Metro Will Lee and Fender Jaco signature with HG Thor extra thick epoxied neck and Seymour Duncan Weather Report pickups. Cheers

Interesting, but as of Monday the USA distributor had no pricing available. We will see how close the above is once it is actually available for us. I am hoping they come back from NAMM with that info.
