Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

Behringer xenyx 502 is approx £30 new.
It's got 4-5 channels.
I have done silent play with a mic, guitarist, drum machine. I used a headphone splitter to go to all the guys.
With a 3.5mm jack to phono lead you can pop your MP3 in or go out to a zoom recorder

You can even plug straight into it with your bass.

Decent bit of kit for the price

If you bass is active you can plug headphones right into it.

If i am interpreting his post correctly I think Murph wants to hear the DG amp in all it's finery but at silent volume

Yeah I'm looking to play through the Darkglass amp with headphones. That Behringer Zenyx looks like it has a lot of options at a cheap price so I may get that!

No. It wouldn't likely have enough juice to properly drive the headphones without a headphone amp. You could get one and do that, but at that point the mixer is just a better and more flexible option IMO.

I use 2x12+6 cabs from a local boutique cab maker, TKS. I like them. At a bass meetup we tried the M900 with the Mesa Subway cabs. We all agreed that this was less successful.

What cabs have you tried with the M900? What did you like and what didn't you like?

So far I love how it sounds through ampeg and hartke stacks.

Though this is not the sort of feedback you are after I am sure Darkglass themselves must have and it might be interesting to know what the design team thought at the time (or now). Not sure if it is commercially wise to publish such thoughts, however... Maybe they decided they do not want to compete with Mesa at all, for example. I distinctly remember Mesa gear in a lot of Darkglass photos in the past. Only one I could quickly find is here:

I have no direct experience but I'd think the Mesa and DG would be a great pairing for a rock/metal oriented tone.

From the Darkglass Facebook group, here and the Swedish forum, people have said they like the M900 with:

Mesa Road Ready 410, Mesa 412, Ampeg SVT 810e, Ampeg 410 HLF, GK Neo, TC RS410 & 212, Schroeder 4x12, Hartke, Ebs Neo 410 & Proline 210, Aguilar GS112, TKS W2126.

I also tried the Darkglass 410 prototype (but not so loud and not with a band) and that sounded good too. But not available until the autumn.

So that is a decent list to choose from.
