Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

I didn't know it was an effects loop, that is good to know. Now i was reading the manual (online, I haven't purchased the amp yet) and it states that when something is plugged into the power amp In the master volume knob is disabled. How do you control the volume then, just a volume pedal?

From whatever device you plug into the Power Amp In.

How does it work if you want to use something like a delay pedal in the loop? Like you'd do on a guitar amp when you want the delay to be after preamp distortion. Can you do [ preamp out > delay > power amp in ] ?

The M900 foot switch is kinda hard to mount on a Pedaltrain board, as the gap in the middle of the board means there isn't much to fasten the Velcro on. A custom bracket, part of the pedalboard mounting system we are working on, sorts the problem out. Just thought that was fun to share.

Yes, that's exactly how it works.

What controls the volume in that setup? Just the volume on the Microtubes side? I hadn't considered running mine this way but might be worth a shot.

As long as you're running into the send (preamp out) and return (power amp in) all of the knobs would function the same as they would without something in the loop.

Don't let the jack labels fool you. It's a standard FX loop just with more intuitive labels IMO.
The term FX loop is confusing to most because they think they need to put all of their FX in it.

I guess the confusion comes from the slightly misleading bit in the manual TSmith92 mentions above, where it says master volume does not work if you plug something into the "power amp in". This is not an issue when you use it as an effects loop. It would be the case if you only use the power amp of this amplifier and plug your bass into a different preamp (which controls the volume, then).

I was the one that started the thread right when it was announced, and back then it was supposed to be 700.
During development it grew to 900, but I'm not able to edit the thread title, that's all.

In threads that I've started I can go to "Thread tools" (sort of upper right hand side) and in the drop down menu select 'edit title'. Is that not working? Is the thread too old?

In fact, it was another Spector guy Omer Cordell that has helped me make up my mind to go with a Micro Tubes head. I was leaning 2 different ways for my dirty channel head and after talking to him I have decided to go Darkglass. If you haven't already checked out his videos od DG products on youtube you should. I just wish he had one of the head. Maybe DG can send him one. He is the best salesman they have.
