David Nordschow Amplification

I don't read anything into that. Some people are not into
posting on forums. Some are shy. Some just like their privacy.

There are tons of lurkers here who hardly ever post. It is not
uncommon for a 2 page thread in basses, 80 posts to have
between 5000-10,000 views. That's a LOT of people who
don't post. Many have lots of experience. YMMV.

You're right; not a fair analogy on my part.

Don't you find it a little convenient that Lane's apologies have been made just as his involvement in a new business venture has been made public?

I totally disagree.

Sometimes it takes a while...even years...for some people to apologize.

We all know plenty of them. :hmm:

Ultimately he did the right thing. But sometimes the longer it takes for you to apologize the longer it takes to have impact.

:D

Joe.

Peeking? What? You mean Made in China?

:D hahah well done sir...

If he was gone "long before" this then why would his name appear on a webpage. Sure the webpage was put up either prematurely or as a test run but his name was still on it.

Well long before cant be too long.... its a new company..... If I had to venture a guess, one of the parties involved insinuated himself into a situation which could be potentially lucrative (free gear, the opportunity to self-aggrandize) by making promises and representations of himself to goodhearted trusting people which were wholly inaccurate and / or wildly inflated (starting to sound familliar?) knowing that by the time the curtain was pulled back he would have what he wanted and be long on down the dusty trail....

Im sure the webpage hadnt been changed yet as the people involved were busy getting ready to launch HOT DELICIOUS FRESH GEAR and probably didnt count on anyone finding the url on accident anyway.....

which reminds me..... OP how did you find that page?

Anyway.... suddenly my interest in this company has been refreshed.....

There again why would Dave "almost" go into business with a possible slimeball?

Either way it doesn't bode well for Nordschow. He had to have been naive, ignorant of MW's character or just plainly had blinders on.

BTW It takes a lot for a guy to apologise, if Lane has done so with those he wronged, at minimum I commend him for that.

God Bless, Ray

I could see how Lane might have been in a bit of a strain concerning the big corporate conglomerate. Sometimes our human frailties come to the surface a little more when we have a gun to our head. I doubt he would ever say much about it for fear of litigation. I say give Lane a second chance.

On the Big Mike thing he scammed a bunch of folks here. That was not a nice thing to do however you want to look at it. I say Mike should be forgiven but not forgotten and I would not have anything to do with him. It is a good thing the light of day was shown and he is no longer with DNA.

I can not see how David should be faulted for being schmoozed by a scammer.

Good luck to DNA Amps. Site says the unveiling is tomorrow. I will definitely be peeking.

;)

From the URL, it looks like that is likely the real site, not the backdoor link to the development site that was up a few days ago.

Whatever, I'll be watching for the products that come from David's mind closely, and will be anticipating good things.

Lane has always been absolutely upfront with me, whether on the phone eMail, or on the Eden site, but I also clearly understood that with the buyout/sale to USM, a lot of things that he used to be able to address simply by talking to David were now entangled in a new corporate swirl, and the direction taken by USM wasn't necessarily where David or Lane wanted it to go. :scowl:

They've both left USM/Jam and I wish them all the best in this new endeavour - hopefully one that will allow David to push the boundaries as he sees fit, without the big corporate bureaucracy sucking the life outta everything before it even gets legs.

There are folks out there who want the best, and the best doesn't typically fit well in the big, corporate, "maximum-profit-in-the-short-term mentality".

"Giver" David! :hyper:

it could be that lane never apologized before because he was working with us music up until now and couldn't speak as lane but as a rep of us music. up to you all whether you accept it or not, and i'm certainly not saying you should do business with him if you don't want to, but i've always liked lane (of course i never had any reason not to) and i believe he's sincere.

Since there is the other thread in misc., can we get back to the AMPS!

What color do think they will be? Enhance knob or just a switch? small and simple like wt405 or hardcore full size like the nav? I'm personally hoping for a wt405/550 like preamp. 1 rack space, all the ins/outs of the nav just not ALL the billions of eq options! I'm set it and forget it kinda guy. I thinks it is much more rewarding to get the tone from my fingers than knobs! I know Lane was trying to get a simple pre built for a little while before USM, but that was in the "Oh sh*& all the parts we're building with are crap and we just sent out a thousand of em" days! Go get em Dave!

BTW a Dave Funk Dave N collaboration would something huh? I certainly couldn't afford that!

Wow.....I CERTAINLY didn't mean this thread to turn into anything like this... I was just sharing the news that one of our industrys land mark amplifier and cabinet builder/designers was returning to the market. Whether you like Mr. Nordschows products or not he IS an important player in the industry. I personally am looking forward to hearing his latest designs. Can't we focus on the products ( past and future )? After all, I know I won't be taking Lane or Mike to gig, I'm taking a bass and an amp. I'm NOT taking away from others feelings on Davids associates just trying to stay focussed on what I personally intended by starting this thread.
I personally am not above foregiveness. Life is too short to live angry. Perhaps an ounce of pity for those who choose to take advantage for others and live in a dishonest way? It's truly sad that someone could evolve into that type of person...think of what their life must be/have been like to get them to that point....sad...

I'll be sure to catch them at NAMM. Seeing as I already have the WT-800, I'm looking to them to advance the state of the amp, not re-hash where they've already been...

They need to be ...

not GK
not GB
not EA

all while being cool as hell!

or they fail ...

I've kept silent on this, and I won't get into the thing with Lane much. I always thought he was probably an okay guy that didn't handle the pressure very well and probably snapped when he dealt with folks on occasion. That's human I guess.

What I never liked about Eden was the way everything was so disorganized. This was NOT USM's problem. Simple website updates, incorrect information in product manuals and advertising, you name it. You could never trust what you read. That bugged the crap out of me. IMO David needs some folks, maybe just 1 or 2, who know how to get things done in a timely fashion. From everything I've seen, Lane was loyal to the bone to Eden and David, and that has to count for a lot. I'm just not sure he's the guy to go around tying up loose ends. Maybe that's a second person.

Either way, I have a hard time imagining what David could create that would wow me at this point. He may have done some cool things back in the day, but the game seems to be very different now. I hope I'm wrong.

90% of a +1
i believe forgiveness is good
