Deep cold in the northeast to Floria. Hurricane winds up and down the Atlantic coast. I live in Oregon. The weather is fine.
Same here in Malaga, 12 degrees in mid-afternoon. That's Celsius, mind. Funny how quickly I've acclimatized - I'm under a duvet whereas the north of England would be killing me. I simply cannot comprehend living in the middle of a large landmass like North America where the temp really plummets.

22C? That's so So Cal. Genuinely sorry for the Aussies, too. I heard today that the Sydney Open was unplayable with 79-year record highs. Difficult to escape that sort of heat. Can't help thinking that the more we switch on the CH and the AC, the more we're going to have to. Unless we all huddle in the same spot in the south coast of France (with Morgan Freeman voicing over the documentary).

That’s one of the good things about summer. I can get warmed up pretty easily in about 5 minutes.
I went to go to the gym this afternoon only to find my front drivers side wheel jacked up in the air with all of the lug nuts off
. They didn’t get the wheel as it appeared frozen on. A neighbor gave me a ride to the store and I bought new nuts along with a set of the locking ones. All in all I’m out $70 and my hands are still taking forever to warm up.

I suppose we shouldn't get too cocky here in So Cal. The forecast is rain and 60 on Tuesday. Winter is here
I have spent a lot of time in Costa Mesa / Newport Beach. One thing I can say about it is that it's always a nice day as far as the weather is concerned. Oddly though, I got into a lot conversations with people about about the weather each day. I found that amusing to say the least. I guess if you've got it, flaunt it.
The other thing that cracked me up was when I was in LA for business and some of the folks I worked with refused to walk a few blocks because it went down to 55 one night. They actually insisted we call a cab! I had shirt sleeves on that night....

I was in St. Paul for two weeks in early March ... years ago. Funny, never had the urge to return ...HA! Come on over to northern MN and you'll be in for a treat
I’ve seen Jamaicans wearing long sleeves and a toque here in the middle of the summer @ 90+ humidex. I guess it’s what you get acclimatized to. I don’t get along too well with summer heat, particularly if we go from spring to summer in the span of 2-3 days.
Cold makes my bass go sharp because the string shrinks and gets tighter—- goes flat in heat.-2 for last night's gig. We set up next to a large window so it was cold inside, too. Every time the front door opened, a blast of frigid air would shoot into the room and be felt all the way to the back. I pitied the audience members going out for a smoke. Like usual, the trip in the cold made my bass go flat by a half step. On the plus side, my drinks stayed nice and cold
Tonight's gig has freezing rain in the forecast
Brass instruments do the opposite because the inner diameters of the tubes get bigger as the metal or wood shrinks.
