That looks like some pretty serious grain runout on the neck where it meets the body.
Yes, that emperor is wearing very fine clothes indeed.

Maybe it is like this one here where a disgruntled wife ran over it with a car.

Of course now that I posted this picture of a broken Ric someone will chime in and say how this also was a Rickenbacker QC problem.
That's not Ric QC... that's wife QC...

Yup, that's what I was wondering. Not a bad price for spare parts or to sell off.TRC at least $100
Pickups $200
Bridge tailpiece $150
Electronics $60
Keywinds $80
Nut $5
Knobs $20
Truss Rods $30
Straploks $10
The broken body $???
Just a thought here, but if the bass was brand new and shipped to the buyer and arrived in that state, wouldn't it have original Ric strings on it? Based on the pic, it looks like Xl's or some sort of D'addario string based on the string ends....

Anyone receive a new Ric in the last year or so with colored ball ends?

Looks like the same bass if you see how the guards are broken , i believe the bass was returned to musiciansfriend and it ended up on ebay 5 months later.
