Dead rickenbacker, smashing.

It sure looks like it.

And yes a good luthier can glue that back together. A proper repair would be solid and strong.

There are a few choices to fix it. It could be fixed with screws and glue or just glue or pins and glue. I would not attempt to fix it myself.

Looks like the same bass if you see how the guards are broken , i believe the bass was returned to musiciansfriend and it ended up on ebay 5 months later.

Any of you guys bidding on this one?

I'm actually quite interested to bid on it.
Basically, if the biddings don't go to high, you have all the quality parts to build a new bass.

Thing is, I'm wondering if the parts were not replaced by used parts instead.

They seem ok to ship oversea, so I'll send them a mail and ask. I'll keep you updated if you want.

I find it hard to look at that bass. Really sad. :(

I find the damage to the bass and the damage to the case, odd. How does the bass get destroyed like that and the case is cracked on a corner? Odd.

That said, I'd try to fix it with some PL Premium glue. I'm sure it would hold.

Just a thought here, but if the bass was brand new and shipped to the buyer and arrived in that state, wouldn't it have original Ric strings on it? Based on the pic, it looks like Xl's or some sort of D'addario string based on the string ends....

Hey...wait a minute...

Anyone receive a new Ric in the last year or so with colored ball ends?

Does this mean that Musiciansfriend sells off their broken Ricks to a third party to liquidate through Ebay?:eyebrow:
I wonder if PMagers knows about this since he sent it back to MF for a refund according to his post.
