It isn't here yet but I just bought a Dean Edge Pro 5 online thats getting shipped to my local Guitar Center by early next week at the latest!

I'm a little unsure about the 35" scale but hey for less than $250 I'll give it a shot.

I had a chance to try some other ABGs at Long and McQuade today (Takamine, Ibanez, Fender Kingman), and the tone and volume of my Dean are both much better than the ones I tried. I get it now why everyone thinks ABGs are so quiet. I don't really plug mine in; perhaps the others sound better amplified?

My lone Dean is kinda unusual, haven't seen another like it. Made in Czech Republic, it's a "European Select". No clue what other model name it may have.

It's beautifully built with a nice amber tint. Plays itself and the neck is to die for. Wenge board with an interesting inlay at fret 12, and one on the headstock, too. Love this bass. Will prolly upgrade the HZ's at some point.

Thanks fourstringgirl. I love this bass! I play a lot of Maiden and Sabbath and this bitch can take every thing inbetween! It's no speed demon like my Geddy Lee Sig Fender Jazz, but I've sat down with a lot of basses and this is one of my favorites. That brass nut is to die for!!! I love it!!!
