Dean Club!!!

Anybody here play a Dean in church? I've been thinking about getting a 5 string for a couple of songs that are in Eb rather than carry a 2nd base tuned down. Have a recommendation? Not looking to spend a lot for the occasional song.
There’s at least a half dozen in this club that play their Dean’s at church.

DEAN METALMAN V BASS!!!

I’ve always wanted a Metalman Bass. I could’ve bought one but no...that’s too easy! I ordered a custom 5 string Pitbull Guitars DIY V bass kit and intend to make it look as much like a Metalman V as possible. It’s gonna have a neck dive issue, but I can deal with it. It’ll take weeks for the kit to get here and I probably won’t start the build until winter ends so this is just a preview.

Ok...I know this post doesn’t really belong on the Dean Club board but the Metalman really was the inspiration for the build. I hope to end up with something like this (I probably won’t do red inlays or skull knobs, though):

Sup guys, ain't been around for awhile......my wife and I both have been dealing with having covid and we both actually got pretty sick, but are finally feeling better after a good month or so.
Be careful and stay safe guys.....this virus is no joke!
Anyway........to celebrate feeling like a human being again I pulled the trigger on this the other day and its on its way to me now.........

Btw......does anyone know where I could get an aftermarket mirror pickguard for this?

Nice!
I’ve been watching that too!
There’s a guy in Scotland that makes some great PG
You have to send your PG
@kodiakblair told me about him.
I have his contact info somewhere but don’t have time to look for it right now.

Do you have one of the Entwistles? Or ever played one?
I've never touched one, but I like all 6 of my other Deans and I'd never played any of those prior to buying either, so ill take my chances that its also an excellent bass

Hmm....might be a bit pricey considering shipping to and from Scotland. I'll have to wait on that.
The bass came yesterday........first impressions are I like it very much!
Basically its in minty condition, which I've been lucky that all of the basses I've purchased online have been.
Plays like butter, super straight neck and low low action.
The only issues are, the input jack is a bit scratchy so ill be either resoldering or replacing it. No biggie there.
Also....there is some fret sprout on the edges so I gotta file them down. They aren't sharp at all, the ends are actually rounded off quite nicely, it just probably happened due to climate differences. Winter and the dry air that comes with it always screws up my guitars if I don't fire up the humidifier quickly enough.....
But its a really nice bass, though it does neckdive like a sonofabitch, but that was expected. Its worse than my Gibson Thunderbird.......but I have a fix for that.
All in all I'm very happy with my purchase. It also came with a great Dean hardshell case!
