Dean Club!!!

I just did a New Years Eve gig last night and I used my Dean Edge 3's. In case anyone was wondering how they look under the stage lights, here's an example:

Pretty killer looking and sounds awesome. I played them through an Orange Terror Bass and 2 OBC115's.
Looks like the main green area of the body really reflects.

Very nice. Stands out without being obnoxious.

I finally picked one up this past Monday, but haven’t posted here yet.

And congratulations on the gig!

Well then you need to post up Slacker. :D
I'd like to see what color you got. I still think about the purple from time to time, but since I already have the green and the silverburst it seems a little redundant.

Green Metallic Burst!

Discontinued

Been looking and calling all over. Really frustrating too, because so many websites still had them shown as new sales items. Called each to make sure they had it in stock. Same answer everywhere...discontinued and a different company handles our website! Duh! So anyway I saw this in Reverb and it wasn’t too far away. That was last Friday. I had taken vacation time and had scheduled service for my Jeep on Monday, which was in that direction but only 1/3 the distance. Figured I’d drive and save on shipping.

Was in an awesome mom & pop music store that’s been around since 1981.

Used. Good Shape.

Been quiet here.
Thought I'd post this beauty I was watching on Reverb. @jd56hawk reminded me of it and the G.A.S. started all over. However, its beyond my psychological limit...but it sure is perdy! Not in any way connected with the seller.

Looks like a transparent brown pickguard, too, a la Bacchus.

I think it may be Walnut to match the headstock?
Isn’t listed in the specs. I sent the seller a message to find out.
Whatever it is it looks good.
I thought it might be wood but it just has that plastic look about it, especially the bottom right.
Sometimes it looks like you can see the grain through it, but in some spots it just doesn't quite match up.
On closer examination, looking at the beveled edges, it looks like wood.

Replying to my own post as it appears the time limit to editing your own post is 12 hours instead of the previous 1 hour, which is a welcome improvement. Thank you TB! Much appreciated!

I contacted the seller and the Pick Guard is Walnut to match the headstock and back of neck. Entire neck is Walnut with a Maple Fretboard.

Hi, I am new to TB,

I am also new to bass, I have a blue Dean Hillsboro bass. It is an import, but it is fantastic. I have rotosound strings. I am a member of the Dean owners association (DOA) I have 6 Dean guitars as well. I am probably getting either another Hillsboro or a Juggernaut in the near future. I use Ashdown amps.

Are you in the DOA? You should join if not. Fun times!
I had joined the Dean forum a while back, but since I refuse to give Mark Zuckerberg all my personal info I’m not in DOA since they use FB for a platform. :(
Check out the information section of my profile for my list of basses that includes a majority of Dean basses.

If nobody else has said it, let me be the first...Welcome to Talk Bass!

And welcome to Dean Club!!!

I urge you to scroll through the pages of this thread for all kinds of info and some really nice examples of Dean basses.

Would you like a number?

Nice Hillsboro. I own 4. A Gold Eric Bass signature, one similar to yours in Trans Black, a rare Korean made P/J and a USA DEAN Jon Hill 2009 NAMM Prototype made before production started in 2010.

After Jon Hill left Dean he continues to make his version (his design) of the Hillsboro called the 'Dawg Bass'

We had quite a few here, including me, jump on the Juggernaut's when they were discounted due to being discontinued for either $264 or $269. I can't remember which because one price was for the Juggernaut and the other was for the Paramount (which is also discontinued). All the Juggernaut's you see for sale are NOS (unless used) and I am surprised that the price went back up to $499.

It is wooden pickguard, the guys at the custom shop do an incredible job.
And this is my other USA Dean. Only 3 ever made. The prototype used as a mule for Jeff's own personal bass, Jeff Berlin's 'Grinch' bass (with the ‘face’ on it from wood grain) and mine with a maple FB.
