Dean Club!!!

Too bad those catalogs don't have an MSRP to further help. :D
I had never heard of the brand before I saw mine in the shop. A markerless fretless was a dream at that time and I've been happy with it these 18yrs. I otherwise know nothing about the brand even near 20yrs later.
I do have price lists. However, I’m hitting the hay. More tomorrow.

In the meantime check out my ‘encyclopedia’ link in my signature when you have a chance.

That encyclopedia is deep and will take some time! My compliments on its assembly thus far.

One last vintage photo, the file is dated May 2009. So, 4yrs into ownership it was still pretty. Based on the color representations of the catalog, I'd say this is more 2003 than 2004 for the reddish tone of the 2004 model. The only other note is that the truss cover did have "EDGE' written on it standard as the others appear to. That I do remember as I was writing a story at the time called, "The Edge' so held this prophetically.

I don't know what year I painted it, before my wife came into the picture ~2010, so this might have been a 'last photo' as were.

I'm not into logos and get rid of them when I can. Corporations are like 2yr olds with a fresh crayon, they have to put their name on everything everywhere. An unsightly mess.

Can't believe I missed the fretless FB!
That's what happens when its time for bed and you're looking on an iPhone screen!
I have the 5 string fretless version tuned EADGC.
Mine truly is a 2011 model year.

I DO have a Z Tour bass, and its honestly a KILLER bass!! Blows the Metalman series completely out of the water!! Awesome comfortable neck, the pickups and preamp sound excellent and it balances very well.
I absolutely LOVE it.......
I'd say its very comparable to the Z select series at a third of the price.
I would kill to get one of the V Tour basses, and I've never actually even seen a picture of an ML tour bass.

@B-Mac. This narrows it down completely.
The 2005 lacks the burnt edge and the notion of ~$150+ off spanking-new is improbable.
~$150+ off a 2004 hanging around the shop a year? mmm. Not likely.
~$150+ off on an 04/05, returned, mint bass? Mmmmmaybe, but probly not.
MSRP $449 vs. recollected ~$400+ price tag for a mint bass hanging around the shop for 2yrs? DING DING DING DING DING!

I think we've just very reliably nailed my bass down to a new, 2003. Celebrating it's manufacture now'ish and 18yrs with me this Sept.
Thank you, B-Mac!

Glad to help!
Also glad you're enjoying your Dean Edge.
Try an Edge Pro sometime, the older neck thru models.

Anyone have one of these?
Dean Hardtail bass.......never heard of it and there is nothing online about it.
It looks like they were around $699 new, brass nut, neck thru, 3 band eq, mono bridge.
I want one!
I just scored an Edge Pro Tiger Eye and a Neck Thru Razor bass, gotta post some pics.

Yes, I have one. Based on their Hardtail Electric Guitar. Only made for a few years.

Not stated on catalog page, but these have a set neck. I always thought it was neck-thru like an Edge Pro, but they're not as I was told by people at Dean and the Dean Discord Page. Was also available in 5 string version.

Looks to be in great shape! Played at all? NOS?
It was packed as a brand new instrument, still had the paper around the strings......I cant find a mark on it.
What a shaging bass!!
Comparable to any $1000 -$1500 bass, it punches way above its weight class (and I got it at nearly half of what they are still being priced at)
I must say that I'm surprised at how fat the Edge Pro necks are compared to the Q4 Edge bass I have. The Q4 is more in line with all of my other Deans (except the John Lawhon Hilly) nice and thin and narrow.
The Edge Pro Tiger Eye and Edge John Campbell sig both have a significantly fatter neck that I love.
