Juggernaut is a very high quality bass. I am not knocking Squiers, the Classic Vibes are very nice, but I think you would find that the Juggernaut has a faster better feeling neck, better hardware (especially the bridge), and better sounding pick ups. I think the Juggernaut and Paramount were meant to compete with Fender's MIM lines, and I think that they're very close. I believe the Juggernaut is a step up from a Squier CV in most respects
Mine is made by World Music (WMI) in Korea, they don’t mess around!

So, how's it playing for you? Honeymoon over or still going strong?
Great! It was bought to fulfill two roles:

1) Be a cheap Jazz Bass to quell the GAS
2) Be something I could learn setups/maintenance on
2) Be a bass I would feel comfortable leaving plugged into my amp to encourage practice

...and has accomplished all three. I haven't picked up my Precision since I got the Dean! Not because it's better, but because I leave it plugged in with a tuner attached ready to play!

Hello. I’ve been lurking in this thread for awhile, and I made an account because I was hoping someone had some information on my Dean. I haven’t been able to find another one like mine, and I’ve been wondering over the years what I’ve got.

I bought it in either 99 or 2000 from Musician’s Friend. It’s a Dean Edge-One J and is stamped “Korea D20111009” on the back. It’s got 2 single-coil jazz pickups. At the time I thought a jazz-style bass would be nicer than the single-coil Edge model that was a similar price, if I’m remembering correctly.

It’s my only bass, and I’ve been playing it ever since. I was a guitar player that wanted to have a bass around.

I have a lot of curiosity about this model. I can’t find any information on the internet about it. I can’t find any for sale on Reverb or Ebay. The only place I ever saw it was in the Musician’s Friend catalog from back when I bought it. I didn’t know if this was a Musician’s Friend exclusive or if it was discontinued or what.

I’m curious if anyone has any information, or sales catalog info about it. I’m not looking to sell it or trying to put a value on it. I’d just like to know some specifics.

Thanks in advance if anyone knows anything.

Very interesting.

I have quite a bit of catalog info. But that may be a part bass. The only 'Jazz' bass that Dean made with a Jazz type body and Jazz pickups was the Juggernaut. Which was made from 2015 to 2017 with a different headstock. and was not a two octave neck.

I believe that is a Juggernaut with a neck from an Edge.

They exist, although they might be the rare-est dean ive ever heard of.

Sorry, but that neck is from a 2009 Edge bass.

That is a parts bass.

how is it a parts bass if he bought it new in 1999?
that listing says 2002, how is the neck from 2009?
how do the person asking in this thread, and the 3 examples I sent all have the exact same parts bass?
You said an edge neck and a juggernaut body, but that body is not a jug at all. no pick guard, different control pattern.

That neck is 09 as in 2009

Dean dates for 97, 98, 99 start with 7, 8, 9 respectively.

Starting in 2000 they are then 00, 01, 02, 03 and so on.

That neck is from a 2009 Edge
