Dean Club!!!

Ordered a Dean Paramount Bass from guitar center, it should be here in a couple of days. Got it for an absolute steal - $300 new (from what I've seen they're normally that price used). Plus, it has a maple fretboard! I've wanted a bass with a maple fretboard for some time.

Edit: changed "new" to used - that's what I meant to type earlier. I'm an idiot.
Do you still have your Hillsboro Eric Bass Signature Model?

Just ordered Dean DMT USA HOT & VINTAGE PUPS for my Juggernaut

Figured I’d do an upgrade but keep it 100% Dean for now.

More when I receive them after they make them for me.
They’re still making these since they have other basses with J pups. They are no longer on the Dean website so I had to deal directly with Scott Fraser who is great to deal with.

$59 each

Just thought I’d share this in case anyone else is interested.

Well, I just got word that these should be delivered tomorrow.
Bridge and Neck 'Hot'
Bridge and Neck 'Vintage'
Can't wait to hear how different they are than the stock Asian pups.

Nice score!
What a deal for $299!
Heck yeah! Gonna put some Fender flatwounds on it (I changed my mind as to what brand I wanted), replace the bridge with a Hipshot Kickass (though I do really like the stock bridge and may stick with it), and probably switch the pickup out with a Seymour Duncan QP later on. It looks and plays amazingly well, right out of the box. :D
I think you will love it as much as I love mine. The neck, the bridge, the finish work- heck, even the knobs are machined really well- everything is nicer than it has any reason to be for that money.
Yeah, I'm especially fond of the neck - it has a couple more frets than my Fender P-Bass and a deeper cutaway, so I really like that about it. My only complaint right now is that the tone knob crackles a little for some reason when I turn it, but I generally keep my tone knob wide open on a passive bass, so it shouldn't be a huge issue.

Oh man, that's awesome! I didn't know 10-string basses were a thing...
Yeah back in 2007, 2008 and 2009

This thread has a bit about these and Galveston and Carlo Robelli 10 string octave basses. Edge Hammer came in 4, 5 and 10 string octave versions. First Edge with MM HH style pups.

Search ‘galveston’ on this thread and you should be in the thick of it

This might not be a dean specific question, but i know that people here have other basses as well. And i'd be doing this to my dean. Anyway, Has anyone ever used a TBX circuit tone pot like the one on the Duff McKagen fender or some strats and stuff, or just straight out disconnected their tone pot. I'm looking to boost the output and high end on my dean edge 09. @B-Mac we've had the pickup conversation before, but I'm seeing if there is any way around that.

Might want to ask that here too.

I was thinking about it. I checked old tbx threads, and not many people said much. What i could find seemed 50/50. Same with the tone pot debate. I'll post one. As for that EMG pickup, the problem is for it being like $104 dollars, a lot of people say it's kinda warm. I'm looking for something brighter. I'm almost certain it has more output than the stock pickup, but still.

I’m almost tempted to find a used Edge 09 and experiment myself :)
Have you gone to their website and asked which pup has the brightest tone that you could use under that size pup cover?

They seem to be cheap when they do show up. Because people buy them, then either mod them poorly or peat the sh*t out of them. I've seen them under 100 dollars. Even the new righty ones are under 170 sometimes. I bought my lefty at 179. They all cost around 199 now. I almost bought a second one. And I may still, but not until I figure out a method on improving the sound. There not awful. Just not a few thousand dollar U.S. custom shop model.

Someone bid on this on Saturday and won it. Just wondering if it was any one here?

My Fender Flatwounds came in the mail today. Love how they sound fresh out of the package, and how they feel. The tension is pretty high for a light set of strings, which I'm actually thankful for. I'll probably post a sound clip later. :D

Edit: I should probably specify I put these on the Dean Paramount I recently purchased. :P
