Cool. A black and rosewood Paramount?

The second post was actually a reply to @Bass Man Stan ’s post to help him out with his questions on the Juggernaut. Glad you added to it.

I can’t recall but have you ever played any other Dean basses? I think it’s pretty cool you jumped in and bought two!

These are both real sleepers!

No, I've never even seen a Dean bass in person prior to this one. Was debating getting a 5 string bass for specific purposes, but in the end looked for two 4 string basses to cover the intended roles. Happened to notice the Dean threads while I was debating what to get.

They very much are sleepers. If I hadn't already bought/built four Fenders, I would have gotten a few more of these and been done.

The Paramount arrived today, looks solid. Now to do the full setup.

Initial setup done, another solid bass. Another steal at this price. The equivalent of a MiM Fender with upgrades. Cant believe I got this for $264 shipped. The only criticism I have is that the bridge appears very slightly misaligned (so little that I didn't notice at first, but not enough to be a big problem). Must have been assembled on hangover Monday. Anyway I'll be using this bass for the occasional E flat tuning songs, so I will (uncharacteristically) not obsess enough to have the bass doweled and re-drilled for the ideal alignment.

Where did you order it from?

If it was MF I think they have a pretty good return/exchange policy

I would imagine they have a very similar feel, assuming the maple fb necks and the rosewood fb necks are otherwise cut to the same dimensions. I assume the sound will be in the same ballpark as well, perhaps a slight difference based on FB material? I have to say, they did a great job with these necks. Very comfortable to play, nice satin finish.

Not yet, it got so hot this week that my paycheck evaporated. Electric power in central California @45 cents kilowatt hour. Plus I bought a purple Ibanez micro 28.5 scale last week for my god daughter. Plus I already have a mim fender jazz. Running out of excuses as my finger hovers over the buy button...lol
