Im late to the party but i have a Dean Edge 5er fretless with a pair of passive EMGs...i cant post pics right now but it only has one issue, the bridge is very slightly to one side but not enough to change the bridge position.

The rest of the bass seems high quality overall and the neck is very nice 3 piece maple with some flame, low action, stays in tune and the EMGs sound very good imo and its not too heavy, maybe 9 lbs or less, a huge plus in my book for this 60 year old!

I am doing coats of Tru Oil on the fretless board....it had some wear from rounds (which sound great, not sure what brand they are) but the rosewood board looks stellar after a few coats of Tru Oil so far.

I went with Tru Oil because it is easy to apply and durable and can be redone very easily down the road....ive had great success with Tru Oil on guitars in general but its important to use very thin coats every 24 hours and not hurry it.

Just got it and have yet to plug it in , But 1st knob is Vol , then bass & treble with middle detents , From a 2015 post on here somewhere a poster STANSHEMI said this : " I decided to open it up and check out the electronics.
Now this is supposed to be a two band eq bass and treble but the eq says 3 band the wires for bass and treble are hooked up but they taped up the wires for the mids , pre amp seams to be stock it does says B&G on it so I measured the bass and treble pots and found the are 50k pots so I wired up a pot for the mids and it works. drilled a extra hole in the pick guard and now I have a three band eq and it only cost me $4.00. Still don't know why Dean would put a three band eq and then sell it as a 2 band. You don't need a wiring diagram, just copy the wiring to the other two, thats what i did, works great" That's all I got for ya - see ya

Here's a pick of my Dean Edge 4 fretless 5 string
w7n78pbmlvuwrmt0xkxy.jpg

It's a 2011 and strung E,A,D,G,C rather than B,E,A,D,G and 2 band active EQ

Now how about posting a pic or two? We love pix here at Dean Club!!! :)
There's a TB saying...pix or it didn't happen

Sweet Fretless like the color and your tuning - I need frets & 4 strings !!
Oh, I suck at 5 string, but at least this E, A, D G, C makes it much easier since the lowest string is still E rather than B. Plus muscle memory helps with playing this since I have other Dean Edge 4 basses with frets.

Hey @B-Mac , do you have any Czech Deans? Does anyone in Dean Club?

My 3- two Improvs, one Select. I've messed around with different pickup and preamp configurations, and think I have them mostly settled-
Yellow Improv- EMG40CSX (bridge) and 40P5X (neck) with EMG BQC preamp, and passive tone. Toggle switch is pickup selector.
Orange-burst Improv- EMG40DC (bridge) and 40CS (neck), Bartolini NTMB preamp. Toggle is selector.
Yellow Select- EMG40DC (bridge) and 40CS (neck), SNC pre (Spector HAZ clone). Swapped the tuners for Gotoh GB707's I originally bought for another bass.
